Lived there a little under three years and enjoyed it.
The on-site managers, Joe and Grace, are very attentive with emergencies and will fix your mundane problems within a day or two. They also take great care of the grounds and even plow your parking space if they see you pull in. There's a great park for walking/running just down the road as well as downtown Wilmette and the Metra about a 20 min walk away. Traffic outside the apartment is usually light except for rush hour but the noise doesn't filter into the courtyard.
Pros:
Quiet, safe neighborhood
Reserved parking space
Attentive on-site managers
Laid back, no nonsense, honest leasing office
Easy access to PACE bus transit, short walk to Metra
For Wilmette, fairly large floor plans for the asking price.
Cons:
Building is showing its age (creaky floors, very thin walls, older window unit A/C)
Hanging blinds in my apartment were stained and cracked.
Boiler heat runs a little high in the winter, averaging >78°F depending on the outside temp.
Resident situation is mixed; some very nice, some extremely rude or loud, all ages
No patio space or outdoor common areas
It felt like home by the time I left and I would live there again.
