I lived in a 2BR unit in Dunnhill in 2007, and moved out very quickly. We had cockroach problems because at the time, they were installing french doors a week after we moved in(there was absolutely NO notice by the way. My roommate and I constantly told them about this problem, and they insisted it would be temporarily.
Not a week after the cockroach problem, our extremely old air conditioning unit began having problems, and again, we notified the staff immediately, because it was still August. And guess what? The staff ignored our multiple requests for maintenance, the entire unit broke, and they did not fix it until 3 days later - it was 90 degrees during the day. This, of course, was another violation, but the staff didn't care, because they know they have a superior location and they know students will want to live by the stadium.
Now for the worst: In October, our unit's water pipes burst during a rainstorm, and when we flushed the toilet, EVERYTHING that was in the pipes came up out of the toilet, and the apartment flooded. It was probably the most disgusting thing I had ever witnessed. So because the place was literally a --------, it was uninhabitable for 4 days, and they had to replace the carpet and tile in the entire apartment. The staff's excuse was that we had a string of bad luck. I think that is the most BS excuse; the unit was a health hazard and in terrible condition from the beginning.
