Resident 2010 - 2011

9/24/2011

I lived here for the 2010-2011 school year, and when I first went to go see the apartments I loved them. After living there for a year, I am telling you very honestly that it is a terrible place to live. It seems like a good deal because it is cheaper than most, and the floor plans are a good size, but they will do anything to get money out of you. We lost almost 900 dollars to them! To start out with, they have a serious bug problem. They say that they have insect people come and spray every month, but really they come once a month and change the bug traps they put, one in the kitchen and one in a bathroom. We sprayed numerous times a week and we still have spiders and centipedes all over in our living room and bedroom, it was disgusting! The laundry facility is an extreme waste. It was worth it to drive home and pay for gas to do our laundry. The washers were gross and didn't seem to clean the clothes well, and out of the 5 dryers they had, at least 3 were always "out of service". Notes were always left but they were barely ever fixed and DEFINITELY never replaced! Trying to get your clothes dry in one of their dryers is something that will never happen. Also, they make you resign your lease in December, which is like maybe 4 months after you move in. They say it's because "everyone does this" but that's not true, because the apartment I'm in now only wants a 30 day notice from when your lease ends to know whether or not you're staying or going. We went ahead and resigned in December because after only being there for 4 months we didn't know how bad things would be. When we decided to transfer school, we tried to get out of their lease. This is do-able, but they charge you a full months rent just to get out of it. So basically they got 600 dollars form us for NO REASON. Then, they take basically all of your deposit! When we moved in we had to scrub everything down. They SAY it's cleaned, but our rags and towels that we washed things with were really brown and dirty when we got done cleaning! Doesn't seem clean to me! They take so much money from your deposit to "professionally clean the carpets" and "repaint the walls" when you move out. That apartment was basically perfect when we moved out of it, it looked like no one had even lived in it! We got almost no money back from our whole deposit! The walls were like paper you could hear everything and if you live on the first floor like we did, you get to hear people stomping around all day, everyday. You are also supposed to have a parking pass to park there, but they never check that. They only did during little 5, so all the other times have fun parking away from your apartment and walking. The handles were always falling off of our doors too, because they were extremely cheap. The management people are extremely rude. We absolutely HATED living here. Trust me when I say that it is worth your money to live somewhere else!
