Overall, I think Knightridge can be a good choice if you like a low cost, quiet neighborhood and are prepared for the potential issues with lower quality. Knightridge is a neighborhood that is a bit out of the way for most Bloomington residents. I find this to be a positive feature if you're looking for somewhere that is calm and feels pretty safe while still being fairly close to the shopping centers on the East Side. The community itself seems to be split between students and young families for the most part. Neighbors have been polite, courteous, and very quiet. The facility has a swimming pool and on site laundry. The pool has been well kept in my experience. I no longer use the laundry on site since it is dark, the machines do not work well (especially the dryers), and it does not have a coin machine. It is the last stop on the 6 route and has a shelter. The bus turns around in the cul-de-sac which means that it is easy to spot to avoid waiting outside for long in the cold months. Inside the apartment, there are several nice features. The bedrooms are spacious and have nice closets. Plenty of cabinets in the kitchen provide good storage space, and the shape of the living room lends itself to a cute dining area. The kitchen itself is a decent size for an apartment, but nothing to brag about. The bathroom is of an okay size, but the fixtures seem to be of very poor quality. I have had several issues with the plumbing and with cheap parts for the toilet. The doors also have had issues due to simply being of poor quality, which includes replacing door knobs and having hinges that are nearly coming off. Another issue has been leaking pipes from the upstairs bathroom. This has caused water damage to the ceiling in my bathroom and resulted in a large chunk of plaster and paint crumbling off. The air conditioning and heating have worked well, but the bedrooms have a very large temperature difference compared to the living room, especially with the door closed. Maintenance issues have been resolved quickly and I feel that the maintenance worker will try to make sure that you are satisfied with the repair before leaving. If you want to have or currently have pets, I feel that Knightridge can accommodate for certain types. A pet deposit is required as well as "pet rent". There is some space for walking a dog, but not very much. Cats, birds, and fish are also permitted. Caged mammals and other "alternative" pets are not permitted.
