Resident 2008 - 2010

1/8/2010

My fiance and I have lived here for about a year and a half and could not be happier. The best way I can sum up living at Steeplechase is by saying it is so easy to live here. Our apartment is a 1 bedroom with a study. The study is almost the same size as the bedroom, so it gets used as a second bedroom. The washer and dryer are actually in a small room with a door instead of a closet. There is plenty of storage space: the laundry room, a coat closet, bathroom closet, HUGE bedroom closet, and built-in bookshelves. We have had to call maintenance 3 times and each time, they were there before the end of the work day. The maintenance staff is always friendly and helpful, they always look professional, and my favorite thing about the maintenance staff is that they do not change. The same staff has been here the entire time. The other complexes I lived in had ever-changing maintenance staff. We both rent detached garages and love the convenience of them. Once again, maintenance takes care of everything with them. A great perk is all of the resident amenities. There is a tennis court, pool, fitness center, coffee bar Monday through Friday, car wash bay, resident appreciation party, lease renewal party, holiday breakfast, etc. They are always doing things for us. Most months, when I pay rent, there will be some sort of treat in the office as well. Also, the grounds are very well kept. In the summers, the grass is mowed every week. The maintenance staff plants decorative flowers and plants according to season to keep it updated. It is always very clean and 'fresh'. The office staff knows our names and apartment number. If I go in to pay rent, they ask about my other half. Whenever there is snow, even in great amounts, maintenance comes bright and early with their snowblowers to first clear paths and roadways, then to clear cars out. They never plow snow up against the back of your car preventing you from ever leaving. I am incredibly impressed with their handling of snow. It is pet friendly, which is nice, and they have a fenced-in area for dogs to play. I will be extremely sad when I have to move out. I never have to worry about a thing here and it makes life so much easier. I hope that my experience here is not exaggerated by a terrible, terrible experience at my previous apartment complex. I would recommend Steeplechase to everyone, it is quiet and far enough away from town and campus, but within reach. Although the price may look or seem expensive (we thought so at first), wait until you see what you get when you live here! It is a great place to live!
