You can get a lot of space for one person, but it's a bit overpriced. The location isn't the best; being next to the gas station, you get a strange mixture of deviants and homeless people at odd hours of the night. (Also, this can sometimes be quite noisy.) That said, there was never a time that I really felt unsafe, although my car was once broken into when it was left unlocked for five minutes.
I had mixed feelings about the staff. Only two people work in the office -- one was the nicest person ever and the other always acted like she wanted nothing to do with me. A lot of fixtures in the apartment were old and needed replacing. My biggest beef was with maintenance -- they were always responsive, but they seemed to want to fix everything for as cheaply as possible (which ultimately didn't fix the problem at all!)... I don't think my drafty windows ever got any better.
In my opinion, I got nickel-and-dimed on my security deposit, but there weren't any really outrageous charges. All in all it wasn't a bad place to live. It served my basic purposes.
