I generally don't bother writing negative reviews but I feel like this is important for potential customers. Most of the office/maintenance staff are friendly & I have no ill will towards them, so it is hard to write this, but I've overall been very disappointed. Unit/grounds shown during tour are nothing like what I received. Office staff is friendly but often unable to provide resolutions, which just go unaddressed. Older buildings situated on lovely scenery; has potential, but it's obvious management doesn't have the care/pride to put the work into maintaining them. At move-in, I'd taken the day off work & was having a mattress delivered. Upon arrival, I was told I couldn't get access because the place was filthy. It messed up my plans big-time, but I figured I'd give them a break. Made me wonder if anyone had even walked thru the place before my move-in day, though. They told me it would be prof. cleaned & I could move in next day. Got into the place; it DEF had not been cleaned & there was a puddle of liquid cleaner in a pool in the middle of living room. Kitchen cabinets were covered in sticky film/stains/gunk; had to scrub them myself--most of the stains never came off even with bleach & scrubbing. Clearly no one actually walked thru/inspected the inside or outside of my unit before I moved in. Wasn't given an "Inventory & Condition form" during the move-in (should have per my contract) & wasn't given a formal walk-thru. I had to request a walk-thru & took my own notes/photos since I wasn't given a form. I sent an email with 20 photos of issues found during my initial walk-thru. Found more issues over the course of the first weeks there. I ended up making a spreadsheet over time to keep track of everything. Grounds are well-kept in the areas they'd like customers to see, but a walk in the complex reveals rust/mold on buildings/ staircases, dumpsters/storage units inexplicably in parking spaces (which are already in high demand), broken/dysfunctional gutters, pieces of buildings falling off, wood rotting/damage & paint peeling, cigarette butts even near the main office building, dog poop everywhere, etc. Then they have the nerve to get after residents about minor things like paint peeling from tape. Pics are from grounds and issues in/around my unit. Just a few items upon move-in that were never fixed or took months to fix: -Dirty rugs & debris/trash left on my back porch. Finally gave up & disposed of myself -No floor transition for a 1-inch gap between wood & tile--safety issue -Window screens falling apart/held together by mailing tape -Kitchen cabinets not flush & filthy/stained upon move-in. Stains don't come off with scrubbing/bleach -Stains all over the concrete on my porch & outside my front door - "Sprinkler Room" alarm beeps every few secs & audible from bedroom. Have placed 4 service requests for this since fall 2019; they mark it off as fixed, but beeping always starts again -Dysfunctional gutter system that caused flooding whenever it rained. They eventually fixed by my unit after a few months, but gutter issues are still in the whole complex -Both bath drains were clogged with gunk when moved in--they eventually did unclog them -Stains on ceiling/painted surfaces throughout unit -- said a painter would come to touch-up, never happened -Front door only has 1 functioning lock -Garage door deadbolt lock doesn't work -Laundry room sliding door fell on me repeatedly; fixed after a month/3 separate maintenance requests -Dishwasher/disposal clog; fixed after 7 months/3 separate maintenance requests I have more, but there's a character limit. Trees/ scenery are a big appeal here, but it is def not worth the poor quality of units/grounds & the lack of care from management. Don't feel giving them my money esp when there are brand new places down the road with similar floorplans/pricing. I hope they'll consider taking more care & pride in maintaining this aging property. Meanwhile I choose to spend my hard-earned money elsewhere.
