Resident 2012 - 2013

9/11/2013

I lived here from July 2012 to August 2013. It's a great little place to live if you need a very cheap apartment and don't mind living on the southeast side of Evansville. I found the neighborhood to be fairly safe (located in a neighborhood watch area that does a great job) and I never really felt unsafe in my apartment. There's a bright light over the parking lot that lights up the front of the building as well (bonus: you don't have to leave your outside light on when you leave). The other people living in the building were friendly, quiet, and nice. The only noise you would hear would be doors slamming (a few times a day), people running up the stairs (uncommon), or music from the jerk who lives in the house next to the building (once a week in the summer). They do allow you to have 1 cat but no other pets are allowed. There's no laundry facility but Laundry & Tan Express is just down the road. If you live here, you'll need thick curtains on your back windows because the car wash leaves its lights on 24/7. The manager in the office (at Dexter Apts) is very nice, helpful, and easy going. The maintenance guy is friendly and works quickly. I just moved out on August 31st and I received my full deposit back on September 10th. That's pretty quick considering that September 2nd was a holiday. With all things considered, I would recommend these apartments for anyone who needs something cheap and doesn't care about the extras. PS: I paid $395/month for rent (including my cat fee) but I think the rent may be $410 now.
