HONEST non biased review

hello rating readers i was reading through these different reviews and becoming upset when people were only saying how great the place is or how horrible it is. I am writing to describe real events that have taken course during the past year i have lived here in jamestown homes. when we first moved in we went through the walk thru and complained of some paint on the carpets and paint bubbles on the handrail. The hand rail was sanded and re painted and the carpet cleaners came in two days later and cleaned up the carpet. the maintenance staff here is awesome. If i call before 3pm most days someone will be out that very same day to fix my issue, if not they are almost always out the very next day. i have never had to wait more than 24 hours for something to get fixed. now in the winter time depending on what building you are living in you may experience some mice, however, once you call maintenance they set traps for you and the problem is gone. it is not because the place is dirty, but because the mice are cold and the apartments are warm. the office staff... well let's be honest, they have to deal with the people who complain about the littlest things, so yes at times they can be a little edgy, but in no way do they intentionally try to be rude. they have always been helpful when i call in, and as long as im not whiny they arent either. lol. landscaping just got finished last fall [2010] so now the front yards are all decorated with small bushes and blooming bushes/flowers. we get to do whatever we please in our own back yards. they are seperated by privacy fences so the kids cant really run thru them. :] I personally made a garden, but ive seen decorative fences up, grills, patios, flowers, gardens, fountain, and the whole shebang around here. the side walks are nice to walk on and get some exercise. parking is adequate, however i wish they had parking available for two cars instead of one. so we get one assigned and then we have to find parking down in the lot for the other vehicle, which is ok, no big deal, just would be easier if two assigned spots were offered. since these apartments were built in the 60's [i think] they are in no way new or top of the line, but for the price of rent they are a steal! a two bedroom townhome for a little over 400 a month!! incredible. the rooms are spacious and closets are in both bedrooms and in other various locations throughout the house. there is even a closet under the stairs [we throw our shoes in there] the people who built these homes used as much space as they could!! the kitchens were remodeled a few years ago with new cabinets and countertops, so the kitchens are very nice!! which i love since i love to cook. :] the bathrooms [we have 1 and 1/2] are spacious and actually attractive. the flooring was redone right before we moved in and i love the layout of the apartments. the neighbors are all different. we have many burmese living here, but they are all friendly and nice. everyone talks to eachother and it is a great community. black white yellow green purple and blue people live here and we all get along. :] there are occasional domestic problems but out security gaurd handles them just fine. we have a small park near the office, which used to have a basketball court, but the rims were taken down due to teenagers and young adults being to rough right next to the little kid playground. most of the time you cannot hear the neighbors. the only thing i have heard is a baby crying, someone running up or down the stairs, or someone yelling for something. for the most part it is a quiet place with friendly people.
