I moved into my one bedroom in 2011. Overall, my experience with the Courts of Valle Vista was a comfortable and happy one.
At the time I moved in, I was 26 and living alone. My top priority was safety. With two military men living in the apartments below me, I felt pretty safe. The only time I felt scared was when random men would knock on my door (probably trying to sell something). Although I enjoyed the balcony, I did not appreciate the fact that there was an open stairway (fire escape) making it available to any person who wanted to climb up. This building was obviously designed by a man - the main reason women choose second floor apartments is to lower the risk of a break in :)
Other than what I listed above - I had no problems with my apartment. Yes, the shower head leaked a little bit and the kitchen appliances weren't the greatest (i.e. the dishwasher wasn't top notch), but I got what I paid for. If you are looking for an up scale, luxary place, the Courts of Valle Vista is not for you. If you are looking for modest, comfortable living (on a budget) I would reccommend it.
The staff and work crew was always great - friendly and prompt.
