I came to Indy a year ago for research. I needed to stay within the Downtown vicinity due to some stipulations of my project. I ended up signing a lease (and recently extended my lease) with The Block. Super happy about my living space and environment. Look at and compares over 14 different places (all within 1.5 miles radius of Monument Circle) before I made my decision. Very unique and upscale construction; historical with modern amenities. There were a few places that came close to the quality built of this place but there was always something (important) missing. I had a great time bonding with the staff. All are very professional, except for maybe one (I'm totally kidding, please don't raise my rent.) Seriously though, from the leasing management team to maintenance's are all professional and down to earth. We take turn making fun of one and another from time to time. Living just a block from Monument Circle offer endless options of things to do. So many music venues, stand up comedy club, nationally rated restaurants, sporting events, dance club, and of course, bars for you social or heavy drinker (I don't judge,) etc...Almost forgot about the city farmer market every Wednesday, summer through fall months just 3 blocks away. One of the big draw back for me living Downtown was parking; not here. Ample parking spaces from both of their temperature regulated garage. Both conveniently located inside/connected to The Block. No more carrying grocery home from 2 blocks away (quite a few of the other apartments i visited did not have a built in parking garage, let alone a temperature regulated one.) It is not free but it is so so reasonable for downtown parking. Getting an assign parking space number is also nice. No more hunting for parking (some other apartments' parking lot were mixture used between public and residents.) This is important to me because I make plenty of short business trips in and out throughout the day. Another deciding factor for me was how well this place constructed. Places I looked at were too cookie cutter, some were high end cookie cutter. High end or not design and built quality were lacking. I am not talking out of my...well you know. My background was in commercial construction so I am informs for the most part. So I described all the goods. What about the bad? To be completely candid, I can't think of one (no built in grocery store? Come on!). Yes, I know I am lazy. All the things were already thought of for us who lived here. My rent price, is something I probably shouldn't discuss. But I did kept most of apartments brochure that I visited last year and I would rate this place to be the best value for your money. However, I think you should decide for yourself. It is going to be your next new home for however long after all. But at least make an appoint to view the place. Lexi (sp) and Emily are the bomb! They will show you the place and help you make your decision and they are NOT pushy. They never were with me when I was a prospect. The Block sometime offer a end of the year move in special so maybe you will get lucky with your timing? Happy hunting and cheers!!!
