About the amenities wrote 12/14/2018: My Husband and I are kids again! I went to MyClinic at PNC tower, Bought shoes at Payless, and picked up at Panera Bread for dinner all without going outside. It is THE BLOCK, IS ONLY APARTMENT BUILDING CONNECTED TO THE SKYWALK. We walk the mall at 2 am (who knew we could do that) going home from the club. We cook Dinner in our apartment and then carry the food to the ARTSGARDEN at midnight. All accessible using our key fobs for being tenants of the BLOCK Apartments. In the summer we ride our bikes to pick up Groceries. *** We are a couple in our late 40's. We bought a house, raised our children, kids moved out, sold the house, moved to the Block. For us, the Block is about the lifestyle. We are living out the remainder of our Youth. About the building wrote 12/14/2018 The interior is great, but the infrastructure of the basement walls are of concern. I am concerned due to this being the base of the building. The walls are of pitted concrete and in some places completely collapsed. When it rains it comes into the basement garage of the Block as if the north basement wall is non-existent. downtown has had 7 instances of sinkholes throughout the year. Four of the sinkholes have been within a block or less of the Block Apartments. Needless to say, I urge you to address the infrastructure of the building before it's too late. Government funding is available for preserving historic buildings. Take photos, apply, and repair. About the Staff wrote: 12/14/2018, We have lived at the Block Apartments for almost 3 years and have seen changes. The best change has been the hiring of office manager Leia White and relocating Martinez in Maintenance from Cleveland, Ohio Apartments to The Block Apartments Indianapolis. Leia always smiles, conversate, with EVERY tenant. Although this is an apartment building Leia White makes it HOME. I have lived through several changes in staff. Leia is by far the best. Martinez has not been with us long but his impact was immediate. I saw changes in the cleanliness of the building only days after he arrived. It compelled me to ask Leia about the New guy. Then one day I met him while he was with the Cleaning staff, going floor by floor, pointing to what is to be done. With Martinez on board, the Block is in the hands of someone who cares and is not afraid to LEAD. I am not a fan of Chelsea the front desk girl but I respect her. She is not approachable nor attentive. When I call to the front desk for information I am met with "I don't know let me ask Leia' or simply "I don't know" and then she ends the conversation. I look forward to seeing her grow and evolve into a person suitable for the hospitality the Block conveys.
