Decent apartments
I have lived at Canal Square since July 2011 in a one bedroom on the first level facing New York Street. The 1-bedroom is spacious but the appliances and furniture are old (although I do know they have started replacing the kitchen appliances). The location is great and is walking distance from restaurants and shopping downtown. Easy access to the canal is a major plus which is a major downtown attraction. Superbowl 2012 was a major reason for me to live downtown and it was totally worth it. If noise is a concern, this may not be the best place to live. New York Street is busy and noisy plus the walls are thin which meant I kept hearing noises from the apartment above mine. Since the apartment complex is old, the hallways are not all that fancy. Parking garage, gym and a pool are other amenities. No utilities are included in the rent. The staff is very friendly and respond to work-orders promptly. This place meets expectations but does not exceed it.Share This Review
