The management is unprofessional and untrustworthy. They will say what ever they need to in order to get you to apply.

I have only lived at these apartments for a little over a month and already have had 3 issues with living here, example: When i applied and had everything set up to move in I was supposed to get a discount each month for where i work well when it came time to pay the first month rent they told me I would not receive that because i took the move in special, which i was never told that would happen besides the fact that anyone who moved in would get that special not just me. Another thing I had my child bike on the porch as a normal person would and they told me i was in violation as a bike is not "outdoor furniture" meanwhile the person above me just has trash all over theirs. Thirdly when you move in you required to have renters insurance which i had provided and here i am a little over a month living here and they left me a letter at my door saying if i dont provide proof of insurance i will be evicted, so i called the office and asked which they have on file and said that it… See More>

The new office staff could use a refresher course on their customer service skills and maintenance is alright for now. Parking can be horrible at times. I'm assuming where I parked my car at last night was not a good spot though, due to me getting to my car this morning and realizing someone had stolen my windshield wipers off.

Martinique is a beautiful community and they keep the grounds very nicely. The office staff and maintenance are very helpful upon move in and any interaction after that as well. I felt very comfortable with my choice and would highly recommend them. Since being here I have no seen or heard of break ins. They hosted some resident events recently like Marcos Pizza night. Its a wonderful place to live. It stinks when past residents post negative comment once they move out. If ever I have something wrong like maintenance or what not I notify them immediately and it is taken care of. I think Tim, the maintenance guy does a great job!

My fiancé and I have lived in Martinique Terrace for about a year now, and we really love it here. Our apartment is huge for a one bedroom. Our neighbors are very nice and everyone I have met is friendly here. As with any apartment there are some draw backs. The buildings are old and have a bit of a draft in the winter time. The complex is located on 31, which is a dream for commuters, but it is a little noisy. The staff here has been so friendly, helpful, and understanding whenever we call them. Any time we need something fixed someone is here either the day of or the day after. If you're thinking about not renting here because of the bad comments, I would suggest you stop in for a tour and talk to the staff. Some people will only tell you about the bad things and never mention the good things. We love our apartment and plan on staying here for a few years until we decide to get a house.

I have lived here for almost 2 years now. This was my first apartment and I was very pleased with it. Parking is a tad crowded so don't be surprised to park a few places away from your apartment. They never check parking tags like they tell you. Maintenance is very fast to respond but tends to do they job quickly and doesn't do anything to make a permanent fix. Very quiet and a nice place. MASSIVE room space for the price you pay. I am glad this was my first apartment.

It's good place, clean apartments BUT not SAFE! . I just got stolen when I was overseas to get married, they stole my TV , my home theater (BOSE) and other stuff. They broke in the window and got inside my apartment located on the main street and no one knew about it even the faculty members, when my friend told them about it they didn't even say sorry or at least contact me. CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK USA TO MOVE OUT WHAT I HAVE LEFT OF MY STUFF. DON'T sing the LEASE

                  I love my community

I am currently shopping for a new apartment out of state because of a job transfer so was on this site. I decided just to see what was said about my current community and was shocked at what I read. I have lived at Martinique Terrace for 3 years and cannot say enough good things about the staff and the maintenance. The ladies in the office are always so nice and the few problems I have had have been taken care of immediately. A couple of years ago we had a few cars broken into but since then I have not heard of anyone having any problems nor have I ever seen any police at the property. Everyone seems to work very hard at keeping the property in good condition and I have never seen nails and bottles? I feel really bad that someone would make such horrible accusations about a place that I will be sad to leave.

                    NOT SAFE-RUDE!

Not safe and VERY RUDE!!! When we had our tour we were told the place was safe and never had break in's or robbery issues. WRONG. My car was vandalized several times. We had our apartment broken into SEVERAL times, the ladies at the office told us WE would have to pay for another lock on the door, and they pretty much said it wasn't their concern. Now, I have 3 kids, so that kind of reply doesn't sit well with me.Their safety is my number 1 concern. Our neighbors also had their bike and car STOLEN! The scary part is that the car was stolen and I quote the police "stolen by a mexican carrying several knives and attempted to kill someone" WOW..really want to move here still? At that moment we started looking for houses, and got a camera/security system for the apartment. People will randomly come to your patio and take things, so we had to buy locks and chains for everything! It was rare we called maintenance but when we did, we were treated like absolute crap! The dishwasher had problems and after the 2nd time of calling about it not working, they finally replaced a part… See More>

                      Great staff, Nice apartments!

I am a student at IUPUI and lived here for one school year in a two bedroom apartment and we had a great experience. The office staff was super nice and always answered any questions we had. The laundry facility was always clean and in good condition. Our air conditioner went out and the maintenance crew came very quickly, was very polite, and fixed everything promptly. The community is nice and the grounds are in great shape. We only had the issue with the air conditioner and once with the garbage disposal, but both issues were resolved very quickly. We always had parking spots extremely close to our apartment and the parking lot has good lighting.

                        Decent Value

I moved to Martinique Terrace a year and a half ago. I was brand new to the area and really had one weekend to find a place to live. This was the second complex I checked out and signed a lease on the spot. The grounds are well-maintained and the apartments (at least mine...not sure about the rest) have been recently renovated with new carpet and windows. The apartment was spotless when I moved in. I live in an upstairs, two-bedroom unit with a w/d hook-up on the north side of the complex (less crowded). The closets are huge! The view from my living room window is a pretty creek and wooded area. Unfortunately, the view from my balcony is the parking lot and US31. I'm a single professional in my 30s and have been lucky to have neighbors my age or older who do not party or make a lot of noise. (I did the college dorm thing and am not interested in living in that environment again.) If you are interested in living in a quieter area of the complex, I would definitely try to get a… See More>

                          It's your money

Being an individual who has lived in MANY apartments throughout the state of Indiana, I wanted to share my two cents on the year of my time spent in Martinique Terrace. First of all, this was the first apartment I'd been in who gave me three lease options with three price variations, which may not seem new to some, but was different and unique to myself. Signing an extended lease (compared to the usual one year stay) leads to cheaper monthly rent, however, you the reader aren't sure if you're going to enjoy staying at this apartment complex for more than a year. That was the question I had in my head after visiting Martinique for the first time. The questions I had while looking at my possible future home, were answered quickly and without vague misinterpretations. When I visit an apartment, I don't want candy coated sincerity or obvious blatant lies. Asking a question about the most recent crime and it's severity usually brings on an act only cheesy enough for B-films, but I was given an open and honest answer. Much appreciated. After reading some of the reviews here, I was skeptical on the… See More>

                            A wonderful place to live

I have lived at Martinique Terrace for almost three years and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff is always very helpful and the few maintenance issues I have had have been fixed almost immediately. I think the property is beautiful and always maintained. Crime has no address and my Dad's car just go broken into in Geist. I also have had friends who live at different apartment communities that have told me about break ins near where they live. I love my apartment and how close I am to everything. I have never seen mold nor has anyone who lives here ever said they have any mold, or that maintenace makes them clean up anything. On the contrary, they go out of their way to clean up any mess they might make in my apartment before they leave. Oh, and when you live in an apartment you will hear a little bit of noise from your neighbors, you aren't in a cabin in the woods.

                              pretty nice

Apartments are huge for the price. When we moved in it was really clean. Parking can be a little tricky. I drive a nice car and no one has bothered it yet.One thing I don't like is the price at the laundry facility. The washers are o.k. at 1.50, but the dryers are 1.25 instead of 0.25(laundromat) and to get your clothes dry it takes at least 2 cycles.

                                EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

Pros: newly renovated (i.e. energy efficient windows and appliances), quiet neighborhood, maintenance always took care of any issues I had, neighbors were respectful, apartment was HUGE, especially for the price, management was very friendly and attentive, close parking, ALWAYS kept up with landscaping. Cons: no W/D hook-up in my place, new neighbors could not shut their closet doors hard enough, heard US-31 traffic most of the time (not enough to keep me awake though), mailboxes are outside, really could use some weatherstripping on the bottom of the front door to keep it better insulated. I had a great experience! When I compare my stay with Martinique Terrace with the many other apartments I had, this was by far the best value! Really, half of my complaints are something personal, not something you would be guarenteed to have when staying here. I am a leasing agent at a different complex and can say that this one is one of the few on the southside that is one I would live in. The ONLY reason I left is because my now-fiance and I decided to move in together and she has a dog. I miss Martinique!

Households with SAHM DO NOT APPLY!

I am going through a divorce and my 2 children and I applied for an apartment with my father. My father is a retired veteran who still works and makes at least $66,000. The leasing agent (who was not familiar with answers to common questions either) knew I was not working and still had us fill out the application and pay a $70 application fee for 2 adults. The next day, we received a phone call that our application is denied because I am required to have an income. After complaining, they then said they would allow us to move in if I show proof of my income after one month. It takes time to receive child support and I care about my children and want them to have time to adjust to the divorce and the move before they have to adjust to not having a stay at home mom. This is a ridiculous policy. With an income of over $66,000 not including retirement income, there is no reason both adults should have income in order to be approved. It seems like a fraudulent practice to withhold that policy until after… See More>

I currently live there. There was a flood from the toliet in the apartment above me and they came out and fix it on a Friday night but they did not check my apartment below. There was pee all over my bath room and they would not clean it up. They told me I had to clean it up myself. Which was very very disgusting. I argued with them for over an hour trying to get them to come out and the manager refused. Since then it has been a week and they have not come out to fix the drywall yet. I got a quote from the resoration people and they said mold would set in around 72hrs. It has been much longer. When talking to the maanager I was told I was being evicted for arguing with her about this and trying to get it fixed. Also that was a squirrel in my house one day when I came home. They did come out but they broke my coffee table in the process and they will not fix that either, which cost me around $500-$600. Their solution to fixing… See More>

Honestly, I think this apartment complex is fine. I think it has a really good location, near 465 and practically every store you need or could want. The staff is ok, sometimes they don't seem friendly. Last year a man worked in the office, and he was SUPERB and knew my name and where I lived and was very helpful, but I'm not sure what happened to him. My apartment was one of the renovated ones and we don't have very any problems at all, and when we called maitenance, they were there quickly. The neighborhood is quiet and everyone keeps to themselves, it's mostly a working class families. I'm a young lady, and I haven't had any safetly problems and I feel right at home! Although last year someone broke into both of my neighbor's cars, but mine wasn't touched. There isn't much security, except we do have a sheriff's deputy living a few buildings down, so that keeps me feeling a little better. Overall, I think it's a good apartment complex for its price compared to many other apts at the same price in Indianapolis!

Well, we lived there for 2 years and during that time my car was broken into 3 times, stuff out of my wife's car was stolen, and my cousins truck was broken into. There was no security, and the managment did nothing about any of the vandalism that occured (it happend alot!) We lived in one of the apts. close to US 31 and it was noisy. We did have a mouse in the apartment, but maintaince was quick to patch up the whole in the space behind the oven (thats were the mouse apparently came in). Other than the vandalism and noise, there were really no problems we had. The apartment size was good for the price and the people in the community were nice. The maintance people were nice and they did install new windows. This might be the place for you if you have a junk car and do not have much stuff to steal. Keep in mind that this was close to 2 years ago, but I am sure they still do not have security.

There is this mean lady that works in the office. She's come and gone a couple of times now, and all of my neighbors here agree that she does not belong in a position of customer service. She is moody and demanding; I've even heard her talk bad about people as they've left the office. Wish they'd bring back the nice guy that used to work here. He seemed to at least know what was going on and addressed resident issues.

I've lived here now for 3 years, and would like to say that I've witnessed nothing but improvements in all aspects of the community. The community began undergoing a renovation project not long after I moved in. They put in new windows, and all new cable jacks in both my bedrooms and my living room. They also did a lot of exterior renovations throughout the property (painting and sidewalks). When my lease was up last year, I was offered the opportunity to move into the newly renovated apartment just across the hall from mine. Talk about customer service!!!! :) It was such an easy move and I'm even happier in my new place. I now have all new cabinets, new carpet, and a new built in microwave. I get many wonderful compliments from all my friends and visitors. It makes me very proud to live in such a great apartment, all thanks to Martinique Terrace! I recommend you check them out.
