I like it

My husband and I have lived here since last summer. I'm surprized by all of the negative reviews since my experience here has been pretty good. The first day I moved in, the carpet seemed to emit black stuff on my feet. I told the staff and they sheduled a carpet cleaning right away. Then I discovered that it was really the wooden kitchen floor. I told them and they cleaned it the same day. I also didn't like some of the rust that had accumulated on a bathroom bar rail. I'm not sure how they did it, but that was gone too. The parking is really tricky here. You won't find a spot on the free lot after 10 pm. But most other apartments we looked at downtown didn't even offer free parking, so we took what we could get. The location is pretty great, since you're within walking distance to everything! I love to take walks to Mass Ave., the canal and the mall. Plus if we want to go to restaurants, we don't ever have to worry about downtown parking, because we can just park. The laundry does fill up on Saturday, but if you do it on a less popular day, it'not too much of a problem. The parking is pretty irritating and would probably improved with the repainting of some lines since some people apparently don't know how to park (they double park). My car has been nicked a few times by some other cars, but I think that's my fault for trying to squeeze into too small of a spot. I've more recently discovered that you can park at the nearby meters without a problem. The free time on them ranges from either 7, 8, or 9am the next morning. Overall, for the price you pay you get alot. Compared to other apartments, this one suited our needs and budget the best. I would recommend it only if you are careful about how you park (not to close to others) and have either an alarm on your car, a crappy car, or the money to buy a parking spot. Also, prepare to have your eyes open. There are homeless and occassionally one will approach you and ask for some money. If you carry some change on you for such occassions or don't mind taking the time to buy them something to eat, it's alright. Oh, and the open floor plans are great. My living room and bedroom are huge!! And my husband who loves to cook daily thinks the kitchen is fine.
