Waterside at Castleton
Former Resident · 2017 - 2018
Do you like cockroaches? What about terrible customer service? Fond of burned buildings? Well, have I got the place for you! Waterside at Castleton is possibly the worst apartment complex I've ever lived at. My neighbors were great! The location was great! The building? The maintenance? The customer service? Awful. I moved into my apartment in August 2017. And three days after moving in, I found my first cockroach. This problem persisted until I moved out, although I'm sure the cockroaches are still there. When I handed in my keys, the front office staff seemed absolutely SHOCKED that I had cockroaches. The copious amounts of emails, maintenance requests and phone calls about said cockroaches obviously went unnoticed. And then the neighboring building burned down. I don't blame the complex for this. I DO however blame them for not reaching out to the community to make them feel at ease. I also blame them for the building still being there, four months after the fact, still standing, still half burned. (If you're going northbound on I-69, you can still see it!) My favorite might be the terrible maintenance though. The front doors to the buildings are supposed to be locked and only residents in that building are supposed to have keys. Well, no one really needed a key because the handle for my building was constantly broken. I put in so many maintenance requests for this to be fixed and I'm pretty sure I could go walk into my former building right now with no issues. So if you're looking for that extra security feature, look elsewhere. A month before I was planning on moving out of my cockroach infested, inferno adjacent apartment, my ceiling started falling down. I put in a maintenance request and then I was told that they couldn't find it. It continued to fall down until I sent pictures of said drooping ceiling to the management company. This was the only way I ever got anything done, by contacting their management company. So if you do have the unfortunate pleasure to live at Waterside at Castleton, I would recommend just becoming BFFs with upper management. I've lived in many complexes with varying levels of contentment but Waterside at Castleton is by far the worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. Stay away at all costs.
