Resident 2006 - 2008

7/6/2008

This is the worst place my husband and I have ever lived. We first moved to this apartment complex to be closer to work and school. The apartments are a bit larger than any of the other places we have lived in, and they have central a/c. That is about the only good thing I can say about this place. There was a pool, but it was never opened and eventually was plowed under. When we first moved in our stove did not work, the walls didn't seem to be re-painted, and had nail holes and sticky spots from where the former tenants had hung posters. The sinks in the kitchen and bathroom appeared to have been painted with white paint and were chipping and had terrible rust stains. The apartment also didn't appear to have been cleaned before we moved in either. All of the fixtures in the apartment are dated. There was not a power outlet in the bathroom, we had to ask to have one installed so I could use a blow dryer to get ready for work. The shower also leaked constantly and maintenance would only "fix" it by applying copious amounts of caulk around the faucet and baseboards. The pilot light in the furnace was constantly going out in the middle of the night, we eventually got so fed up that we bought electric heaters. When the heat/a/c did come on/shut off it was very noisy and rattled loudly or made thumping sounds. The carpeting is very dirty/old and worn down. The floors creak and groan and there are also two spots that if you walk on them you can feel the floor boards sink under your feet. There are always problems with neighbors here as well. At all hours you hear thumping music, screaming and fighting, drunk parties, etc. We have had to call the sheriff's dept. numerous times for fighting and arguing early in the morning. Smoking is not allowed in the hallways but it always smells of smoke and is often dirty. Parking is also a major hassle here as well. While it appears that there is ample parking, don't return home late on a Friday or Saturday night or you won't have a place to park. Often neighbors have tons of people over on these nights and they take up all of the parking instead of parking in the designated guest parking area. The office staff is quite nice and personable but will very rarely do anything about any noise/neighbor problems. Maintenance will come out if called, but lives off site. There is also a $30 lock-out fee w/ no exceptions. One day our 13 year old neighbor boy was locked out while his mother was at work. He couldn't get a hold of her, so I called maintenance to let him in, they charged him the $30 dollar fee regardless. The grounds have adequate upkeep, but nothing special. The parking lots are usually dirty and the dumpsters are always overflowing. There were also a couple of fires here in a short period of time from careless behavior. Overall this is a very poor place to live and I would not recommend it to anyone.
