Resident 2014 - 2015

A quiet community behind convenient shopping and entertainment, right by I-65. Maintenance is quick to come out when needed, if not a bit careless (left their tools here twice after a repair). Has decent facilities such as workout-room and pool which I enjoy greatly. The downside is the cheap appliances. Hotpoint stove, basic refrigerator, mismatched washer/dryer and a dishwasher that is seriously a waste of time (another Hotpoint special). My best advise for potential renters: mark down each and every flaw such as over paint, stained counter-tops, carpet quality and condition/functionality of appliances on the move in inspection - my feelings are they minimize costs and I don't want it coming out of my deposit!

These apartments are very nice but the main issue is have had was on two different occasion maintenance has came into my apartment without notifying me the first time is was to give me a new mailbox key and the second time it was to check for a leaky window when I was sleeping I do not recommend this place if you enjoy your privacy. There are places just as nice that respect your privacy From hunter Miller :)

I was completely content when I first moved in and for the first year. Once I went to month-to-month, service went to waste. Although I was paying $150 more a month, I could not get a $30 dollar repair that I had requested while on the one-year lease. The best part is that the damage was caused by one of the service members! When I called the office to complain about the damages caused by their own staff, they handled it rather unprofessionaly. They actually sent the repair guy back just to argue and confront me. If my last four months weren't so disappointing, I would be glad to recommend Shenandoah as a place to live.

The office staff don't care about you, all they want is checks and they don't care about your hardships in the economy. I owed 200 dollars and was trying to pay it off with every. Little extra cash I had and they threaten to evict us even though we pay our rent on time every month. The 200 was for trash and pet fee. The office people are stuck up.

Overall, Shenandoah has been a pretty good place to live. I chose the complex b/c I definitely wanted a washer and dryer. I was in a one bedroom apartment for a year, then upgraded to a 1-bedroom duplex b/c I wanted the garage. I like that the complex clears the snow from my drive in the winter. Also enjoy using the pool in summer, it has never really been super crowded during the week. Maintenance has been decent, always come and take care of stuff within a day. Neighbors have always been nice, a lot of them keep to themselves which I guess is fine, too. I have friends with cheaper places, but I think my apartment is larger and a lot newer. So, I guess you get what you pay for.

            pretty decent place

I have lived at Shenandoah for two years now, in a 1-bedroom apartment. I love my apartment! I moved in here b/c of the huge balcony and the washer & dryer, they were both must-haves for me. Overall, I have been pretty satisfied here. Maintenance comes to take care of problems pretty quickly...I think I have called in 2-3 times, once for my garbage disposal and I can't remember what else. The ladies in the office have always been friendly, too. So far, my favorite apartment I have leased.

              Excellent place to live!

I have lived at Shenandoah for 5 years while attending Purdue for graduate school. I have enjoyed my time here. The apartments are large and the balcony is huge with tons of storage. The office staff have always been helpful and prompt with any issue that came up. The new fitness center is nice and I love the pool! The location is great, you are close to shopping and the highway. Some of the fixutres/finishes are a little dated, but I would not hesitate to recomend this complex to anyone.

                Nice, clean place to live...

I have lived in my apartment for two years now. It is pretty big for a 1-bedroom apartment, and I like that it has a washer and dryer in it. My neighbors are all really quiet and nice...which is awesome. The clubhouse has a newer gym and I LOVE the pool. My only complaint is that the pool doesnt stay open after Labor Day. So far, the office girls have been super cool and the few times I called to have things in my apartment fixed, the guy came right away. Overall, a pretty good place to live.

                  Keep looking/Pretty Shady

My major complaint is how the office is run. Every time I went into the office to get help, I was told that "someone else has my file" and that they couldn't help me. Turns out the office staff only gets commission for the people they are assigned, so if you are not "theirs" then you can't get any help at all. They will tell you, "Oh, that is Mary's account, you will have to talk to her." Also, I had the manager tell me several times that issues would be taken care of, only to later learn that "If you don't have it in writing, you are out of luck." The office staff is kind, but unhelpful. It took me 3 different phone calls over 5 days to get maintenance to fix a leak, they wanted to charge me for not vacuuming my apartment when i moved out, and they will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to leave them alone. Pretty shady how they work it.

Great place to live, but watch out at move-out!

Shenandoah Way is a great place to live; I spent two years there while attending Purdue. The community is relatively quiet and the buildings are fairly new with great up-keep. The price of rent is high, but you get what you pay for, and the proximity to Target is excellent; I never had to drive to the grocery store. Best of all, they didn't require a security deposit. The one downside came when I moved out. Despite cleaning the apartment very well, I still received an $80 bill for cleaning for very trivial things, such as a "bulb replacement" fee (my refrigerator bulb burned out a few weeks before I moved out, so I didn't bother replacing it), a fee for replacing the oven drip pan(?!?), and a fee for shampooing the carpet (which I assumed they always do anyway). They are extremely picky about this type of thing, so caveat emptor.

                      Great place to call home

I have lived at Shenandoah for one year. It is the nicest apartments I have found in the greater Lafayette area. I live in one of the 2 bedroom 2 bath cottages. My unit is free standing so it's like living in a condo. The maintenance staff here is prompt and courteous. I usually get a response the same day I call for service. The office staff is very friendly. The only noise I ever hear is from traffic on the street. I pan to live here as long as I call Lafayette home. There are cheaper options in the area but you get what you pay for.

Not as great as they sound

I have lived in Shenandoah for a little over a year. The apartment layouts are nice with some good features (nice balconies, outdoor storage, washer and dryer in every apartment). The office staff does get maintence out very quickly to repair things. And they are quiet and parking has never been a problem. My concerns are more about the upkeep of the apartments. While the layouts are nice, the general state of the apartments is rather rundown. Our carpet should really have been replaced before we moved in, but that was not something they offered to do. There were several repairs that needed to be made right off when we got into the apartment, things that should have been noticed on an inspection. And the state of the floors, carpet, counters, etc. all leave the impression of having been worn out. And everything just seems a little substandard. The toilet is always breaking, or the washer, or dryer, or faucets. Yes, they repair them quickly, but there is always something broken. The worst thing is that the air conditioners don't work as well as they should. I have lived in several apartments and this one, by far, is the hottest and… See More>

                          Great Place to Live!!!

I agree - Shenandoah is a great place to live. I have lived here for about 10 months now and haven't had any major problems. Maintenance is 24 hour service and will come fix any problem you have right away. The office staff is friendly and easy to talk to. The apartment itself is clean, roomy, and enjoyable to live in. It's in a quiet area and I never hear any neighbors. The appliances are up to date and work quite well. Their dishwasher actually works, unlike some past apartments I've lived in! It's also very nice to have your own washer/dryer unit to yourself. One ammenity that is quite enjoyable is your large private balcony. It's great for cookouts and having friends over. Don't think twice about living here - you'll love it!!

My fiance and I lived there for over a year. The staff was always friendly. The house was very nice and it was clean when we moved in. The maintenance staff was always helpful and fixed things quickly. I really enjoyed living there and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to live.

                              Excellent place to live

I have lived at Shenandoah since July 2008 and am living here on a short-term lease through December 2008. This is easily one of the best places I've ever lived in the greater Lafayette area. The apartments are in great condition and all the appliances are new and work great. There's an abundance of space in each apartment, as well as spacious kitchen cabinets, a walk-in master bedroom closet, and an outside patio closet. The parking situation is great, it seems like the parking lots are only ever 30% full, max. The apartments are very quiet, and you only share walls with one other apartment and your upstairs neighbors. This is a very quiet part of town as well, far enough removed from campus that very few college students inhabit this complex. That being said, most of the community is very reserved, quiet, and respectful of the other residents. Being that this complex is so far from campus, it's not the best place to live if you were a student and wanted to commute to Purdue, but it's great if you just work in town or commute outside of Lafayette, being conveniently located next… See More>

                                Awesome Place

I love living at Shenandoah. I will be moving soon and I wish I could take my apartment and amenties with me. I am moving to another city and I have yet to find another apartment complex with as nice of features and washer/dryer. I love the approxiamate location to Target and various other shopping centers. Close to food highway and about 15 - 20 minutes away from campus. I would definitely recomend this place to anyone who is looking to get away from the college scene but still have a nice affordable place to live. The office staff have been very helpful and nice. I knew when I signed 3 years ago that I would love this place.

                                  Great Place!

I recently did an apartment search in Lafayette and found many rude people and horrible apartments but when i found Shenandoah I loved it. The staff greated me the second I walked in the door and helped me along the way. The apartments are very spacy and clean, that is a HUGE plus for me. The price is high but its worth it. The people I have met have been VERY friendly and the whole neighborhood is quiet. I have not had time to expierience maintence or anything like that but so far my experience is GREAT!

                                      I like it here

I really like my apartment. I especially like the fact that the apartments are designed so that everyone only has one neighbor and your neighbor is only connected by the bathroom and kitchen. Whenever I need something fixed they are there within two days and sometimes it’s not fixed correctly but they come right back out and work on it until its right. I love my balcony it’s huge; actually that’s the best part. These apartments are new and the only problem I have is that the dishwasher takes forever to wash dishes ~2hours and its noisy. I’ve never had any problems with management. They are a little overly friendly in an annoying way but that’s better than being mean.
