When I first moved into this apartment, I was required to pay a $740 deposit, which I was told that $500 of it would be made available to for me to use on the first months rent on a new lease. Well, the new lease came around, and there was nothing in the paperwork about it. So I called the office staff, and they said because I had been late one time on rent that I could not use it. Once again, I looked through all my paperwork and found absolutely nothing anywhere in the paperwork that stated this policy. I had planned by budget around this for an entire year and even took a small vacation because of it. Either someone made an uniformed statement, or I was flat out lied to about the deposit. Which one, I do not know, and probably never will. This complex also does a yearly inspection. When my inspection was performed this year, closet doors were left open, lights were left on, and my sweeper had been moved. I find this to be very unprofessional. With that being said, the grounds and my apartment are great. The appliances are a little outdated, but I have never had an issue with them at all. The apartment was absolutely pristine when I moved in. New Carpet, fresh paint, and very thoroughly cleaned. I do have an issue with the closet doors however. I do agree with some of the other posts on here about the doors being dangerous. Within 3 days my children had a door fall off due to the bottom mounting bracket not being screwed into the floor or baseboard. I removed the closet doors from my childrens room to keep doors from falling on them. Within a month, all the of the closet doors in my apartment had come off track. Instead of calling maintenance, I fixed these permanently myself. There is hardly any noise ever, and my neighbors are great. Maintenance comes a soon as called. The pool is a little old, but not bad. Tennis courts are well maintained. The playground is a bit small considering the size of the complex, with only a slide, swingset, a hexagon climbing thingy, and a small pretend truck. I'd rather drive the extra mile to Hummell Park so my kids can play at a real playground.
