Resident · 2010 - 2011
I was a resident of Stafford Pointe Apts and only lived there a year. I always paid my rent on time, never caused any problems, etc. Initially I thought it was a nice place for me and my daughter. That was until I was in the process of moving out. During the move out process My apt was broken into and I notified the office and they had me call the police to file report etc. I did and no one was charged. After I moved out I get an invoice from them indicating I owed them $276. When I looked at the itemization it indicated I owed them $ 116 for rent but I moved out a week early and had paid for the whole month. When I disputed it they indicated they did not receive my keys until the 5th. I dropped them off on the first. It was Independance day weekend. Also, I had a charge for $20 to replace a door stop that was damaged during the break in but they indicated it was my responsibilty to replace it since no one was charged. Seriously $ 20 for a door stop. You can get one at the hardware store for 1 to 2 dollars. I contacted the General Manager of the property and he never called me back it wasn't until I kept calling that I was told the charges were all accurate. Paying the $ 276 is not the issue. It's the principle and unprofessionalism that I want to caution prospective renters on before signing a lease with Stafford Pointe.
