I received an email saying my rent was not paid and had late fees now. I had personally walked into the office and asked what my balance was to pay off my rent and all other fees that was due for this month. I called and the girl that I had given the check to answered and told me that I owed my rent and a late fee. I asked her, "don't you remember me asking you for my balance and giving you the check?" She said she did and that she would figure it out. She got back to me saying that because I used my parents' check, which I always have done and wrote my name and my current address on the memo part, my check has gone towards someone else's account because of the similar names! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! THEY PUT MY RENT THAT I PAID INTO SOMEONE ELSE'S ACCOUNT BECAUSE MY PARENTS NAME WAS SIMILAR TO ANOTHER RESIDENT?!!!!!!! The employees that work there constantly tell you different information and have no idea what is going and they charge you for random fees that they can't even explain. My tiny unit of the house is falling apart and poorly built. Turning the heater or A/C will not change the temperature and only will increase your bill. They bribe other residents with free pizza to have them filmed saying they love Collegiate Communities. I have never ever dealt with a such unorganized, dumb business in my life. My year of being a resident to Collegiate Communities has been hell.
