Resident 2006 - 2008

4/18/2010

When I first moved in, the complex was owned by a nice old woman who was very helpful. Sagamore Ridge used to be a separate complex from the apartments behind it, with two individual offices and two sets of workstaff. While I had some qualms, it was definitely livable and the workers were nice. The screening kept the place from turning into a ------, so all you had was nice couples and the typical college crowd. My only qualms was shoddy workmanship and the fact the pool was tiny and always over crowded. THEN "Purdue Properties" comes in, buys Sagamore Ridge AND the complex behind it. Now there is only one office and half the staff. I was really miffed that people lost jobs immediately upon this buy out. If only that was the only thing that happened... The place IMMEDIATELY turned into a ------. I was only there for 3 months after the buy out and was absolutely mortified. My next door neighbors, a lovely couple, moved out immediately. Everything went straight to hell, and they had the audacity to raise the prices! Two friends of mine still live there, and it sadly hasn't gotten any better. The company promises cash cards if you sign up for a new year, but you often have 2 month wait before you see it. They also tried to force me to pay for repairs I had been asking THEM to do ever since I entered the apartment when I left. I had actually upgraded to a better apartment while the good staff was there with no qualms and got ALL of my deposit back. The new corporation was intent on trying to swindle every cent they could from me. I got my mortgage approved and house purchased in less than a month. That's how much I loathed this place after that buy out. And I was only there during the "no so bad times", apparently! Not so bad meaning, having drug dealers knock on your door and having safety light burn outs ignored. Also, I'd like to echo what everyone else has said about the dog excrement problem. It's really, REALLY bad. It was bad even when the good staff were around. Most of the dog owners there are inconsiderate.
