Whispering Winds by the Woods

I have lived here for several years. Here are some basic ramblings about those years.

I find the staff to be helpful for the most part. However, I do wish to stress that since the market has gotten cutthroat, the management has let in a few unsavory characters (one of which we had to deal with). In my opinion, there are too many undergrads now...and management is not willing to kick them out if there is a major problem.

Our apartment is a decent size. The carpet is very old (not new when my boyfriend moved in several years before me). The sliding glass door to the porch is NOT sealed well. There were no window coverings on the windows or doors when we moved in so we have had to supply these in order to keep heating reasonable in the winter. The faucets are a bear! They will not turn off properly without a Hulk Hogan grip (not for the elderly at all).

I must say I agree with the comment that someone made about the repair staff. They are excellent in fixing major repairs, but do not fix the 'small' stuff. Once our refrigerator cut out... there was a new one by morning. I was impressed.

I absolutely do not like having one washer/dryer facility for the entire complex. It isn't convenient unless you live in the A building. Usually you can get a washer or two when you need it, but there have been times when I have had to wait.

My boyfriend and I haven't had much of a problem with parking and we own two cars. There was one semester when it was tricky to get a spot, but that was years ago.

As far as pets go, I own a very quiet dog. I take her for walks in the neighborhood across the street. I no longer walk her in the area between the condos next door and the apartment complex. This area is littered with dog poo. Management needs to stress the need to pick up dog poo!

I would say that this apartment complex is a decent value and that's good... I think I'd be upset if I was paying over 700 a month for an apartment here.
