Resident 2018 - 2019

5/29/2019

They're recently made a couple of staff changes, so I'm crossing my fingers that there's an effort to make some improvements! I've been here now ten months and while the cosmetics are nice, not everything that sparkles is gold. Unfortunately, communication is less than desirable. They offer a community social media platform, but they censor communications, respond when they choose, and although it's been discussed, they do not use the tool effectively as a communication platform for the community. There remain many month+ old questions that go unanswered and there are not even monthly communications from management. There appears to have been some recent staff changes, so recently this seems to be improving - hoping for the best. The grills seem to be too good to be true. Tools do not remain with the grills, the grills aren't all functional, and propane is rarely available - I would not recommend expecting to use these "community resources". Service and response time has always been pretty darn good and remains that way. There's still some improvement needed in poo-pickup stations and public grills, but I respect that these are both heavily used and a struggle to maintain when renters could go a long way to helping with the upkeep. There's general abuse and theft that impacts these things making them difficult to maintain. Utilities also seem very high for newer, "energy-efficient" apartments. Strange that my 2BR apartment's utilities (every one: water, sewage, and electricity) are more expensive here than my previous 2500 sf house. While the management has explained their policy, one can never determine how much of the water or electricity from the community such as evening lighting, sprinkler systems, etc. are passed along to residents to pay. I also cannot agree that my infant daughter should equally pay for the same rate of water usage as a typical adult. A bit more transparency in rate calculation would go a long way when requiring shared resources. Community education on how to impact this in positive ways for all residents could help. They've just opened the pools and there appears to be a concerted effort to get the hot tub functional - which will be the first time I've seen it this way. The pools are nice, but abused by a LOT of people that aren't residents. The grounds crew are a bit sloppy and inconsistent, but it is green. Approaching the time to consider renewal, our decision remains open at this point as we're exploring alternatives.
