My boyfriend and I will be moving in together in the fall and are looking for a 2-BR 2 Bath apartment. I was really excited to check out Hillsborough because it is very close to where I am living now and I have had a couple of friends who have lived there and liked it. When I went in for a tour of a 2-BR, the lady just seemed very rushed and irritated when I asked questions. I specifically asked her what their pet restrictions are and if they take large dogs (I have a ~75 lb. dog). She said that they don't normally take dogs over 30 lbs., but that they will make an exception as long as you live in a lower level apartment so you're not living above someone else with your dog running around. I told her that I had a 75-lb. Great Dane/Black Lab mix, and she said that would be fine. I really liked the apartment, and when I asked to be put on a waiting list to move in in October (about 5 mos. out), she said that they don't have a waiting list and that I would just have to keep calling them at the beginning of each month to see if any apartments had opened up. I think this is a little inconvenient, but I do sort of understand. When I called them back a month later to see what the status was on an apartment, the lady I talked to told me that I had been misinformed and that they "probably" wouldn't be able to accept a 75-lb. dog, but that I could call back at the beginning of August (a month and a half from now) to see for sure. Like I'm going to wait around for another month and a half to call them only to find out that I possibly can't move in with my dog anyway!! I was just really disappointed that I was given the wrong information from the get-go and that I have been waiting around to call them for nothing. They have nice apartments, but they definitely need to work on their customer service and properly training all their employees!!!!
