Resident 2011 - 2013

7/31/2013

I've spent the last two years at Bradford Pointe and I can say, I'm very glad to be gone. The exterior of this complex looks great. Like many have said however, their appliances are ageing, especially the heating and air conditioning units. The walls are thin and I had the pleasure of the neighbors above me bowling and running, constantly back and forth across the living room during the evening until about 10:30. The neighbors on the backside of my apartment loved to get busy on the counter top next to the stove almost daily, so what a lovely thing to hear from them. The neighbor across the street repeatedly got into my recycling for whatever reason (still not sure about that), and let her puppy get into my trash. I asked her to stop and instead of being a normal human being that minds their own business (there wasn't anything weird about the trash, seriously, she just went around getting in everyone's stuff), she decided to stand outside my window for two weeks every night when she walked her dog and look into my apartment. Creepy. The maintenance man gave no notice to enter my apartment for a "walk through" after I gave my notice. The saddest thing about this place is that the office staff was pretty nice and helpful before I moved in. I rented a corporate apartment first and it seemed as soon as the assistant manager saw that I had tattoo's (much of our conversations had been online or the phone as it was a long distance move), she immediately started treating me with a hostile attitude, entering my corporate rental without notice and failing to answer any of my questions. This continued for TWO YEARS.... any question I'd have or if I had a complaint (I only complained twice in two years) I would have to contact the office at least four times before anyone would listen or take action on the complaint or answer my questions. From an alarm going off continually in the apartment above me (I was told it could be that apartment because no one was in it--ended up that the fire alarm battery was bad and it WAS that apartment), to having papers building up from a neighbor that wouldn't through their unwanted papers out. When I gave my notice I expected there to be issues because it's just the history I have experienced with the front office. The manager Jennifer spoke to me once in the two years I was there and hid from residents in her office the remainder of the time. If you went into the office and she was in her office but the other associates were busy, she would not help you, she wouldn't even look at you and acknowledge your presence. It's just rude. The Assistant Manager, Erin was, again, really nice before I moved in and as soon as I moved in she became the witch from hell. She didn't connect my cable as we'd discussed, and dropped the ball on a couple of other things as well. But the biggest thing was just simply, like I stated before, as soon as she saw my tattoo, she treated me differently. Leora was really kind for the first year and helped me when no one would, even asking out loud one day, "why isn't anyone helping you?", when Erin was there ignoring me. There were issues with her in the end, which, I think are due to it being a very busy office and people being on vacation perhaps. It's a gated community, but the gates don't work a lot. They did do a super job of snow removal with the big snowstorms we had this year. It's not the worst place by far, but it's not a great place and for what you pay to live there, you should be treated well.
