Resident 2010

Management here sucks with an exception to a few office ladies and one office man. The "manager" is a joke, taking nothing into consideration, highly unprofessional, can't man up when they've made a mistake, and never takes care of things. I've been to the office numerous times to get my move in check list taken care of and it took them 2 months to replace a keypad cover, mirror, and re silicone in a track for the shower doors which would swing badly. I visited with them multiple times and they kept saying, we'll get it taken care of.... after 2 months repetitive hounding, they finally did. Their clubhouse has very minimal parking, and dont even think about parking around the mini island or on the sides or the driveway because if your car gets hit by their maintenance staff, as mine did, or by anyone else, the apartment complex will not pay for nor take responsibility for anything. When their maintenance worker backed his truck onto my very expensive 600 dollar hood, I went in to talk to the manager asking for his information or some kind of evidence showing that the incident took place (which she did fill out an incident report, but refused to give me a copy) and got "I'm not giving you anything, if you want something go ahead and call the police" and "that's not a parking spot" (her employees park there all the time). (Which here in OP they do not file accident reports on incidents that happen on Highlands property) and refused to give me anything so I waited outside until one of the office ladies finally called me 30 minutes later with an attitude the manager said said "give me your proof of insurance, I'm going to make a copy" and took it and was talking to her employee sarcastically in the back room. I was "supposedly" getting a call from her to see what their headquarters said about my car, still have no word on it and it's going on 3 weeks. Also don't be fooled by those gates, which malfunction on a regular basis, because they don't make the apartments any safer because all someone has to do is follow in a car. It seems as if they put certain residents on VERY low priority because even my gate remote doesn't work. I've been to the office 3 times about it and it still doesn't work. So I have to use the other gate to get in because very often the Highlands gate says "Please Wait...." and will lock out the keypad without the remote. The manager is also very unprofessional. After getting my first noise complaint, she says "If we kick him out, he'll never ever get another apartment in OP again..." and I have witnessed her speaking very sharply, putting it nicely, to another resident about the drafts that come into his apartment and also another time about roaches (yes, occasionally they get those too). Also, unless you get the special treatment, make sure you don't have any company over. Above me I hear kids yelling, foot steps, kids being disciplined, verbal fights, TV,... and not a thing has been done about it. But me, if I even decide to listen to music with some company or friends on weekends, I hear about it on Monday morning. By the way, aside from those demo homes, the walls are really thin here. Also, Parking is a mess and the supposed "energy efficient" stuff that they claim, is totally untrue. Parking when I first moved in here, was a mess. I had my own carport which is included in rent, but people park their other vehicles in it overnight. I went to the office and was told the first time, oh its ok, just park in the uncovered stall, they'll move have to move sometime. Ok... so I come back from work to see my parking stall vacant, and wake up the next morning to a nasty message duct tape to my window saying "get out of my parking stall, respect the parking lot and this is my stall". The second time, they told me just wait and see what happens. The third time, after giving up on trying to park anywhere in the carports, which is supposedly "included", I told them I'm supposed to get a parking stall and I'm tired of being snowed in just because you guys can't keep the stalls in check, then they FINALLY switched me stalls and issued everyone on the Highland side a parking sticker. Oh and as far as energy efficiency, I work 9 hours a day (away from home) 5 days a week, replaced all the lights to either compact florescent or LED bulbs, and have my heat set at 72F and my bill is $103 dollars a month in their 2 bed 2 bath. There are a lot of much nicer apartments in OP with INCLUDED ATTACHED GARAGES and same or cheaper rent, more amenities, and MUCH MUCH MUCH better customer service! Oh yeah, if you look in the weight room on the highlands side, inside the clock, inside the number 6... big brother is watching you.
