I lived at crown colony for a year with my significant other. We loved our neighbors and the layout of our apartment. Sure, little things such as having a linen closet and maybe a few more minor changes would have been good, but as a rental it was pretty close to perfect. We had new carpet when we moved in and all of our appliances were updated and in good condition.
A few months before we moved out (due to a new job in a new city)the office staff changed, I'm assuming due to a new management company taking over. About a month before move out we asked specifically what we needed to do for move out, asking specifically about shampooing the carpet. We were told not to worry about that because they would clean the carpets when we moved out. We had a 7 pound dog, who was 7 years old at the time and fully housebroken! On move out day, while literally STILL moving things out of the apartment, the manager showed up at the door and exclaims "I brought a black light since I know you have a dog". Ummmm, we hadn't even scheduled a walkout with this woman. She immediately closed all of the windows and turned off all the lights, searching every square inch of this huge apartment with a black light looking for dog urine. This, after being told specifically to not shampoo the carpets, irritated me to no end. She proceeded to charge us $1000 for brand new carpet even though there wasn't urine on the carpet. If you like being scammed, enjoy moving in. This was only 2 years ago, so I'm not sure if management is the same but I know the company, iret, is still in charge and I will never rent a property of theirs again!
