I lived at Woodland Park for about three and a half years. I don't like living in apartments, etc. and I have bought a house now. BUT, I was at a time in my life when I really did have to settle for an apartment rather then my preference in a home... And if I EVER have to go back to an apartment lifestyle, I would not hesitate to move BACK to Woodland Park!!! I am 58 years old and have lived all over Topeka, and rented various places (houses, apartments) and without hesitation, I can tell you that Woodland Park is THE best place that I have ever lived. The staff are great, the maintenance is beyond compare. I actually had a time that I made a report of a needed repair, etc. at the office, and before I got back to my apartment, the guys were already there taking care of it! Same day repairs are the NORM for these apartments. I NEVER had such quick response to problems from land lords/managers as I did while living there. They have monthly parties for all residents, free GREAT food and prizes, it's fun. And I liked the lay out of the apartment too. Very roomy, especially the kitchens. ALL apartments have, not just the hook ups for, but a washer and dryer too. If you are physically challenged to change your light bulbs, the guys will do it for you. I had one time that I was struggling to take a recliner I had just bought into my apartment, and Daniel (maintenance) saw me from across the street and dropped what he was doing, ran across the street and helped me. They are a good bunch there. The ONLY "issue" that is OCCATIONALLY a problem, is the parking. Sometimes, it is somewhat difficult to find a spot close to your apartment, but just once in a while. But I think that is not unique to Woodland Park, but a problem in apartments everywhere at times. (Btw, I read one of the complainers in these reviews... seriously have to wonder about someone who's complaints include how you're treated when you "forget to pay your rent..." LOL!!! Give me a break!!!) g.a.
