Glad I read this before someone actually answered the phone in the office!

Thank you all for your comments as I have been attempting for the last 2 weeks to contact someone in the office to inquire on an apartment. I have left several messages and to date have not yet received a return call. Guess I can take this number out of my phone. Thanks a bunch1!! Note: I have to choose several different ratings below and although I do not know what they are as I have not yet had the opportunity to live here, I did not rate them which I believe gives it a middle rating. FYI.

      LIVING HELL!!!!

I currently live on leverett court and have been here only 3 months. We were not allowed to see the apt until the day we moved in and this was not the apt we were suppose to have. The layout they tried to give us was much smaller than the model they showed... and they could only show us one model...? So the day we go to move in we have no apt due to them providing one so small our furniture wouldnt fit. We ended up getting a lake view apt (which I was happy with, cause they gave it to me for the same amount). Our heat didnt work, took 3 weeks for them to fix it..by then I didn't need heat I needed the A/C... the A/C unit is also broke, I am on the 3rd floor, its been 2 months and they are still insisting they fixed it and haven't. The apt reached 90 degrees and I'm pregnant. The A/C runs like a fan but neer cools so I'm just wasting energy. Our deck was unsafe, the boards were not attacher and there is no screen door. So on those hot days when I have to… See More>

        Do not move here!

My husband and I moved in here almost a year ago (thank goodness our lease is almost up) when we looked at the place it looked great everyone was nice. And then almost immediately we had problems. Our A/C wasn't working and I could tell we needed a new thermostat and turns our it needed to be charged although this wasn't discovered until they came about 6 times after calling several times. They would walk in and say simple stuff like well it just needs a few min to warm up. The maintenance supervisor is good but his employees are incompetent, and it took the supervisor coming to finally get it right. The office staff is consistently rude. I went to get a package that had been delivered and they told me it wasn't there and after I contacted UPS even talked to the driver and went back down someone else looked and found it and the other employee got an attitude with me and said I said the wrong apartment number instead of apologizing. Also when they leaved notices they never follow through on when they are going to do something. It is also true about the snow and… See More>

          do not move here!

the fountains at lakeside park would not let us see the apartment we were going to live in until after we signed the lease. and of course there is a reason why they don't let you & why there isn't a deposit fee.... it's because they move you into a ------ place that looks nothing like the model they let you tour. when we moved in we had numerous issues with the bathroom, the toilet leaks randomly, the shower is either freezing or super super hot -there is no in between temperature, the bathtub must of been painted really poorly because it peels really bad and is disgusting! in the spring we had a flies getting into our apartment somewhere around the kitchen/dinning room window. and it was awful. -------- replaced all of the windows & new french doors and painted around them-they did a half --- job on it too, leaving paint splatters all over the windows, carpet & wall. they even put a hole in the wall while installing the windows & painted over it to try to make it "less noticeable". the maintenance people never fix anything you ask them too. ive made several different calls to the front office to… See More>

            very shady dont move in

despite coming on here first and reading all the bad reviews i still decided to give fountains a shot and before i could even sign the lease i had problems with them. we filled out the application and everything was set and they told us we could move in on feb 7th (this was back in early january) so we're getting everything set to move and they call us 5 days before we are suppose to move in and tell us that the price of the rent that was initially offered of 579 was not what they were going to charge us because they had a "surprise renovation" they had to do and our rent was going to go up to 630 a month. that was just way to much for a one bedroom so we decided not to do it, which i am very glad we did. also the staff(except for one pretty blonde girl) totally sucked. every chance they got they were rude to us and totally uncooperative. everything you read about them on this site is true one last thing too. in the clubhouse where you go to sign all your papers and talk to the staff if you… See More>

WORST PROPERTY EVER!!! SNOW REMOVAL SUCKS!!!!! NO SNOW REMOVAL DONE AT ALL

if you are planning on moving here, DO NOT!! the apts inside are laid out nice but for some reason they DO NOT SALT OR SHOVEL SIDEWALKS AT ALL!!! i mean what apt property doesnt salt the sidewalks? This one . I called the office and asked why they do not salt or shovel and i was told that it is a liability if they salt and shovel and someone falls, so in return they will not salt or shovel. Today was the 6th or 7th snowfall of the year and needless to say they havent salted or shoveled at all. And BEWARE, some buildings are located down a "driveway" to which these are never salted until after noon making the drive out the property to work an exciting one. THIS IS THE MAIN REASON I AM NOT RENEWING MY LEASE!!! I mean i have animals living in my apt cieling, running around making noise at all hours and I have dealt with that. The snow removal thing is a HUGE issue that need to be address by corporate. Oh and when i asked for corporates number, I was told " We do not have their number here". SHADY SHADY… See More>

                It's Not That Bad

Been here for a year and just renewed. Maybe these people writing bad reviews are the people getting kicked out for not paying rent or taking care of their dogs. I am glad to see them leave, and they are getting stricter about who lives here. The office is nice and the only 2 maintenance problems were fixed when I called. The price is good, it is close to work, and I like all the trees. I would check it out first, ask to see that apartment you will get before you sign the lease. I love mine and can't say anything bad, except I hated my loud, thug neighbors and they got kicked out after I complained on them a few times.

Property Management skills are below par, Staff very disrespectful

I moved into the Fountains on December 1, 2007. During my ten month stay, I have encountered numerous issues with maintenance and pest issues. The apartment I live in is infested with spiders. For the record, these are not small spiders, but rather large wood spiders. I live in a remodeled apartment, but much of the work is shoddy. The outlets are cheap and the power cords often fall out. The wiring for the entrance light was mixed with the smoke detector wiring and so when I turn the light on, the smoke detector goes off. I would not be surprised if the complex failed city code inspections. During my stay, the complex has underwent extensive renovations. When specific work is performed inside the apartment, the construction crew does not clean up the mess. This is left for the tenant to clean. This was especially frustrating when they changed the windows in my apartment. I came home to find debris all over the carpet. I called the property manager who stated I would need to clean up the mess. Many of the in home renovations have occured on the weekend, which is obviously the most inconvenient time for the resident. Sometimes, renovations… See More>

                    Horrible

Horrible. Awful. Let's start with the staff: these women will do everything short of insulting you if you speak to them on the phone. In person, they're nothing but mindless sycophants, trying their best to get you out of the office so they can do their work. WHAT WORK DO YOU HAVE TO DO IF IT ISN'T PLEASING THE CUSTOMER? For instance: now that I'm attempting to move out, I called them about a month in advance of my lease expiration to see what I had to do to move out. They surprised me by telling me that I had to give a SIXTY DAY notification to move out, despite my lease ending. Not only that, when I protested that this didn't make sense, they threatened to take me to debt collectors if I didn't pay. Here's another one: construction has been an absolute nightmare. As I'm sitting here writing this, they're hammering new siding onto the walls. They have a ladder on the stairs leading up to our door. Oh! My favorite story: they replaced the door, and attempted to give notification when they did so. Our first notice came on Feb. 27, saying that they would be coming… See More>

Terrible Management - Couldn't Care less about Tenants

I had been waiting all week for a delivery. It was delivered to the office. Called at 5:30 they said they would be in until 6. Waited from 5:40-6:15 and left a voice-mail for them to call me if they came back. I came back at 6:20 to find two people of management locking up. They refused to grab my package for me, and told me to come back in the morning. Oh yeah, and my apartment wasn't ready when I moved from TN. Had to rent a hotel for a week, then they moved me into a "temporary apartment" and promised movers to help me move. They never supplied movers or help, and had to do it on my own. Then they stole my table, and scratched it up (long story) and never paid for it. Then there was the time they paid for cheap labor to repair the roof. It was repaired poorly, causing a huge leak in my apartment. Another person in management told me it would be cleaned up the next day. Three weeks later it still hadn't been fixed. If you… See More>

I like the size of my apartment and the layout. The grounds are always well kept and the building look nice from the outside. The apartment is not well insulated because ice forms on the inside of the windows when it freezes outside. Otherwise, the apartment is okay. Noise from neighbors late at night and in the early morning is an issue.

                          Happy at home

I love my apartment. I live on the lake and I knew that old lady who wrote that hateful review. She was nasty and the times I ran into her on the stairs she was hateful and rude. She was always complaining about things and never was happy. The office has seen changes and the people there now are doing a good job with the changes that are going on. They are making alot of changes now and they look to all be good changes. They have their hands full. The manager and the assistant do a good job and are always helpful. They have a hard job because I have seen other residents that I know tear up their apartment go to the office and show off. But enough about that. I just want people to know that living here at The Fountains at Lakeside Park is a really great community and before you believe what a bunch of former residents say, come out here and look around, see the apartments and talk with the manager and get the real picture. I moved here after living in my own home for years. The office staff was wonderful and my new home is GREAT!!!! I have read these other reviews and I am so sorry that these people are so unhappy with their lives. When renting an apartment you are doing just that, renting not buying. I am recommending this community to my friends and think that when people do not pay their rent on time or cause trouble and the office makes them do right that they just complain. The office staff are wonderful ladies and they always go out of their way to help me. Maintenance is always right on top of any issues and I can not brag enough about my new home. The lake is so peaceful and the ducks are delightful to sit and watch. Come see this wonderful jewel that is well hidden in Ft. mitchell.

I have lived in these apartments for the past 5 months. When I first moved in I talked to Allison (A "NOT SO HONEST PERSON" to be politically correct) and was told that if I ever needed anything to advise her of the issues and she would take it to her husband (the head maintenance worker) and the issue would be addressed ASAP. After moving in, I turned in a HUGE list of problems that needed to be fixed. That list was never addressed. Finally after 3 different conversations with Allison she told me that they were "WORKING ON IT" and not to worry. A couple months past by and I finally made YET ANOTHER list and gave to the office. Again, Nothing was done about it. I went into the office and asked why nothing had been done about the new list that I turned in and they DENIED that I ever turned in another list. I then spoke to Karen (Property Manager) and she said that she would get to it. By this point it was too late and I had no longer trusted the property anymore. … See More>

Well upon calling I spoke w/ Allison. I got there and Karen assisted me..and that she did...Beware this lady is a talker. Well she asked me my budget and I told her and miraculously they had just ONE apartment that fit into my budget. Well I asked this Karen lady numerous times to go look at some of there apartments and apparently you are not able to see them until the day of move in. I have never in my life heard of something loke this and was outraged that she said I "couldnt see the apartments that people do this everyday" Well Karen is a hustler and if you ask me this place is shady. They just want your money. I am glad i had the experience i did before i moved into this place.

Looking for HUGE Heating Bills - Best place to go.

These apartments have a lot of air leaks in the windows and hence the heating bills are ridiculously huge(min $200 even if you are at work from 7:00am to 8:00pm). The only positive thing about this place is that it looks like a great place with a lake, fountain and charming scenery. But apart from that it is very expensive. The staff are nice only when you are signing the lease and paying the rent. On other occasions they are rude and don't give you much information. There have been many maintenance problems - the bath tub had an ugly finish, the storage areas under the sink is always wet, the worst of them all is NO hot water in the shower especially in the early morning when you need to get to work. It happened many times even after complaining about the situation. The only answer you would get is "We are working on it". They do not even have the courtesy to send me the receipt of my final payment. I would strongly say "No" to this place. This place is not worth living in even for a few months.

It's not as bad as these reviews are...

I've lived here for 2 years - started living on W. Chelsea and now I live on Leverett. The apartments are old and do need repairs, but that's what you get when living in an apartment complex. It doesn't market itself as being a "luxury" apartment complex, and as with all places with previous tennants, you will have wear a tear. They are remodeling all of the backside apartments - it is taking some time, but they are getting them done. My apartment is great. I do have some issues with water temperature changes, and it does cost a little more to heat than cool, but overall I'm very happy. I have a great view of the lake, my neighbors are friendly, and I am located close to everything. Also, as with any apartment, you can hear neighbors, but it's not enough to keep you up all night. There are some "comsetic" issues: the lake will at times have a filmy substance in it, but it usually fades as the day passes. I do not use the on-site laundry only because I have found laundy places that are close and cost less. Parking can be difficult, but only if you want to park… See More>

I lived over the lake for nearly 11 years. The roof leaked and when it did, my ceilings in all rooms bubbled the paint, and when it could hold no more, the ceilings burst pouring dirty contaminated water everywhere. My carpeting was beige when I moved in and orange when I moved out. They would not fix the roof, replace the carpeting or compensate me for any of the problems that were ongoing. I had to replace the kitchen floor at my own expense as well as the bar top that separates the kitchen from the living room. At nearly $800 a month, the least they could have done was make sure we had hot water! They're reply was, it's not that bad, boil it. I have finally moved out of there by the advice of an attorney. They will not return my deposit nor take responsibility for their actions, and say it is my fault for the carpeting. If you have any thoughts of moving to this complex all I can say is DON'T!

Many cars that are not roadworthy sitting in my lot taking up spaces, flat tires, never move (ever!), or otherwise disabled.

The paper thin walls make sure that I never get too much sleep, I can easily hear conversation level noise from other apartments. The lake is pretty, but the noise it generates is sometimes very annoying. Loads of unlit areas (entire lots without light) and some of the least helpful office staff I've ever experienced.

Oh, and there are major problems with getting hot water in my building. Over the past few months I have measured temperatures at the tap under 80 degrees at times. Maintenance says 'how can you expect to have hot water when people are doing laundry?' Tell that to the health department, I suppose!

I've lost power more often than any other place I've ever lived. Not really a huge issue but can be extremely annoying. I put everything I could on surge protectors and I've had a few of them… See More>

                                            This place is very dangerous.

I lived in Lakeside Village Apartments on West Chelsea in a one bedroom. I was a single female at the time and worked nights as a waitress, as well as a full time student in the day. My number one main concern at this apartment was my safety. The lights in the parking lot NEVER worked. Not one day of the entire year I was there. I was terrified to walk from my car to my front door when I got home at 3:00 am in the absolute pitch black.

On top of that, my downstairs neighbors were robbed, I called the police when I heard someone trying to get on my patio. Also, some wierd stalker would put notes in my mailbox. I called the police and they said that until the lights were fixed back there to expect the crime to continue. There were multiple car breakins. I called the office everyday for one year. Every day. They said every day the lights would be fixed. They still weren't fixed when I moved out. They then sent me to collections and said I broke my lease.

I… See More>

                                              Should be condemned

I have been in the back area of these apts for a year. Oh what a year it has been. Our promised apartment was occupied, we leak from 3 of our 4 outer walls, and the "musty, unoccupied smell" is actually molding carpet. The foundation is slipping down the hill. Our living room wall literally bows out. Both sinks leak. We have black mold growing in our bathtub that we cannot rid ourselves of. We have had 2 majorly damaging floods and a fire which shut down our electricity for two days. We (tennants of 410-418) lost all the food in our refridgerators, got further molded carpets, a horrid smell, mounds of dirt in our front yards, a new knowledge that we had drains designed to reduce damage of floods (they were mulched over)and all we were told was we didn't have renters insurance, nothing could be done. Oh yes, and if we chose to relocate to one of the front, more pricy apartments, we would THEN be taken care of. Talk about unethical treatment of tennants.
btw, it has been brought to their attention that they have 3 convicted sex offenders living here, 2 of which involved minors… See More>

                                                Biggest regret

Leaving my husband was easy compared to getting ANYTHING done in the apartments-A/C has not worked in months..no biggie until this week...fridge that has been broken since I first moved in in Nov. 2005-just now got a new one. Incompetent staff as well as incredibly rude. No security lights that work either inside OR outside the apartments-one common water heater for all the apartments in the building. Be careful...unless you are handy with tools and can fix just about anything that goes wrong in an apartment-because EVERYTHING will go wrong. I live on the lake-beautiful view, cheap rent but in the end too much headache

Might as well buy a house, $400 heating bill in December.

I had one of the lake view apartments at Lakeside Village. It was the most expensive one bedroom. I'll keep it short and simple:
*Mailboxes didn't lock
*Electricity would go out if you had certain things plugged in at certain outlets.
*Linen closet celing leaked, called maitence, tore out celing and left it. (this was a week ago and still no sign of anyone)
*Bathroom floor tile wasn't all there
*Sliding glass door leading to patio wouldn't shut all of the way, and when you got it to, there was a horrible draft. (heating bill was $400 in December and we kept it at 60 degrees, no joke)
*Requested that they replace the burnt out bulb in the parking lot when we moved in 5 months ago, still not fixed.
*Lawsuit being filed with management due to mold in the thrid floor, talked to some tennents on the second floor and they have mold coming in through their celing in the bathroom (everyone has a problem with this place). Called office, said I wanted to be comfortable in my own home and wanted a different appt, they said they would call back, didn't.
*No parking after nine on weekends and you car gets towed if you park… See More>
