My husband and I lived just down the road at Highland Ridge for 3 years before we moved to Hampton Farms. Our rent kept rising, and we got a great deal here at Hampton for a cheaper and bigger space. Although we are still technically "college kids" ourselves, we were afraid of the noise that comes with an apartment so close to campus. We'd never really had that much of a problem at Highland Ridge. Hampton Farms is MUCH better than Highland Ridge for not having the Jersey Shore crowd at the pool all the time. I've NEVER heard my neighbors nor have I ever had any sort of noise complaint. Yes, there is some dog poo in the grass, but it's much better than at Highland Ridge. Here at Hampton Farms, there are plenty of free poo bags and garbage stations. The appliances look a little out-dated, but we had new carpet and fresh paint when we moved in. The maintenance guys are very prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to do whatever they can to help. The leasing staff is always friendly and helpful as well. The pool and hot tub are always clean, and all the buildings are getting an exterior make-over-- although this process seems very slow. I do wish walkways were better lit between apartments. I'm mostly just afraid of skunks at night when I walk my dog. For me, it comes down to money and what I can get for it. I'm hoping my rent doesn't go up too much this year so I can stay put.
