Resident ā€¢ 2018 - 2019

Think twice before moving into Champion Farms Apartments. Had ongoing problem with bugs in the apartment. Talked with several other tenants that had similar problems. There are only two dumpsters in the place and if you don't live right next to one, they are a pain to access. I had mold problems within the first month of moving in - they did take care of though. The a/c units are subpar and don't do a great job. There were several reviews about the walls being paper thin, and I completely agree. You can hear anything and everything through the walls, which is a huge problem if you have noisy neighbors like I do. I have made several complaints about the noise issues which were addressed but continued to occur afterwards. The office did not make any effort to do anything about the continued complaints, which is the main reason I will not be renewing my lease. The appliances are new, but the remainder of the apartment is outdated. For the price, I expect much more. I moved into the apartments because they offered a short term lease. If you are in a similar situation, it is tolerable. But there are plenty of other apartment complexes in the area that are nicer for the price. The other places also have other amenities like a gym and basketball/tennis courts which Champion Farms does not. They do have a treadmill and a small amount of free weights, but anyone who is looking for a real gym like atmosphere will be highly disappointed. They used to have a tanning bed which was nice but has since removed it. The maintenance guys were always nice and timely, but the grounds crew is awful. They consistently leave grass all over the place. There is dog poop everywhere where people do not clean up after their pets. They have power washed several times on the exterior and concrete. Each time I had water all over my floor from where the ground crew power washed towards the door and not away from it. Luckily I did not have any valuable in the front of the apartment. The water was so much that it got into the closet. The combination of these issues stack up. And in isolation aren't a deal breaker, but the combination is just unacceptable. The other negative posts are correct in regards to the price hike. The price is already expensive for the square feet. In this part of town, at this price, you expect a well rounded experience and not to have the issues mentioned above. To top that off, they tried to raise the price of the rent after the agreement. I was leaving regardless, but I would never have considered staying if they were going to raise the rent. I don't see how they keep tenants here long term. That must be why several of the places around this area have a waiting list for apartments and this one has constant vacancies. It is also probably why they offer short term leases. Because if you read the reviews posted, you will see consistent problems that don't seem like they are getting addressed. Again, if there aren't vacancies around the area and/or you need something short term, this place is tolerable. But I would highly consider looking elsewhere as it doesn't seem like these problems are going to be addressed under this management team. And for the price, you can definitely find something in the area that is much nicer and hopefully not have the management issues as stated above.
