Resident 2015 - 2016

11/1/2016

I lived at King George Apartments for a year. DO NOT RECOMMEND. The area is generally unsafe, they found a dead body in a car literally right in front of the gate, in the apartment complex right in front of this place.... The "gate access" is dumb, only works on 502 area code numbers. Otherwise you have to leave your apartment, to allow visitors in if you have a cell phone number that isn't a 502 area code. Plus, when I signed my lease in August 2016, the gate was broken and never closed for at least 6-8 months, pretty much my entire lease time. They never let you tour the room you will supposedly get, which isn't as roomy or very bright with light compared to the tour room they showed you. The balcony isn't a real balcony, so small, and the pool they advertised never was kept up.... literally had algae and no chlorine the entire summer, and the washer/dryer facility had VERY old appliances. My lease rate was $735/mo + $35/mo water/trash/etc. The lady that was there when signing my lease, said I could sublease, but when i wanted to for 2-3 months she wouldn't let me. Not that it mattered because, I had enough money to pay my entire years lease in full if i wanted ROFL. Get things in writing from the staff, and make sure to get a copy of everything you sign, especially when you say you don't want to renew your lease at the end of your lease term. There's a clause that says you'll automatically renew if you don't give them warning 30 days ahead, but the staff say 60, I made sure to get it in writing signed by staff and photocopied 3 months ahead The staff isn't there for your best interest. Our neighbors across from us, always smoked marijuana constantly, and the new tenants I noticed moving in weren't the safest looking bunch. The price was worth the $735/mo 2 br 2 bath though :) Kitchen could use a little upkeep. Stove/drawers were pretty old. Bedroom was ok, bathroom was a bit small, old tiles, and old bathtubs/sinks. Our view to the apartment was literally the building next to us/road between two apartment complexes, not the best view out there compared to the other apartment complexes in our vicinity. They constantly put notices on our doors, to move out stuff out of kitchen pantry, and closets for bug spraying at least 3-4 times during my entire lease in the most inconvenient times. If for some reason you forgot, you would get charged. My roommate had an issue where the apartment complex bathroom above us had a leak, and caused the tile in her bathroom to completely break and drain water all over her bathroom as well, and couldn't use her bathroom for like 3 days, and had to use mine. Which was pretty annoying. So beware. hahha
