Parents you should know that after you cosign a lease for your student(s), and you think you know what's involved,your students will be asked to sign an addendum to the lease right before moving in. This addendum will basically make them responsible for the cost of refurbishing the apartment when they vacate. This was a form I didn't sign, or know existed until I complained about the bill we received after moving. Even though there were no damages, my son did not get his security deposit back, and was charged for re-painting the apartment, and cleaning the carpets. It's been many years since I rented, but those expenses were always incurred by the landlord back in the day. Not with Station House. Those are passed on to you. Or you may be asked if you want to repaint the walls the day you are trying to move out of the apartment, like he was. Be forewarned!!! It's easy to get into these apartments - the security deposit is minimal. But expensive to get out, because you will pay to get it ready for the next tenant.
