Resident 2016 - 2017

I'd like to start off by saying that I am not one to write bad reviews, or any reviews for that matter. However, the way I have been treated on top of the many bad experiences I've had at this place has made me feel obligated to share my experiences so that you can avoid this scam at all costs. Here are some of the reasons you should not live here: 1. They will lie to you. Initially, before move in, I was promised by the lady who gave me a tour of the complex that every time a new tenant signs a lease, the carpet is changed and the walls are completely repaired and repainted before move in. I'm not sure if she was lying to try to get me to sign or if that really is policy and they just dropped the ball. But, when I moved in, my unit was disgusting. The carpet had not been changed as there was hair, trash, and dirt all over the carpet. The walls had holes, scuffs, and marks. There were a couple of holes that had been patched up but not painted over. The bathroom was so nasty that it was scary. I spent an entire day on my hands and knees cleaning that dump. 2. It is in an unsafe area and the property is not equipped with proper security. A few months into my occupancy, I walked outside one night to get some items from my car. I was then approached by a man on a bike who proceeded to ask me for drugs and money. He continued to get closer to me until I jumped into my car and drove away (I didn't want him to try to follow me to my unit). In that same month, another tenant backed into my vehicle leaving significant damage and drove away. When I discovered the damage, I contacted management to see if they had any security footage that I could turn into the police. I was told that there is no security cameras outside and that there was nothing they could do for me. Also, there was A SHOOTING ON THE PROPERTY while I was a tenant. This made the rest of my 7 months living here very nerve wrecking. This property needs an automatic gate and cameras outside to keep their paying tenants a little safer! 3. They will try to scam you out of your money. During Christmas break, when neither me nor any of my other roommates where even in Baton Rouge, I got a call from the office saying that there was trash bags outside of my door and that they could prove it was mine because "my name was all over the trash." I had a friend of mine go over to the apartment and take a picture of the door and the space around and there was in fact no trash bags. They were trying to scam me out of $50 per fictitious bag. Another instance is about the holes in the walls that were left there by previous tenants. Upon move out they tried to stick me with a bill for the repair of the walls. None of that damage was caused by me and I informed management about the damage multiple times during my stay. I still have not paid the bill and they are now threatening to send me to collections. Moral of the story: DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU DON'T LIKE BEING LIED TO, FEELING UNSAFE, OR SCAMMED OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.
