If you lose your job or have to move for reasons beyond your control, they will demand the full amount of the lease. By LA state law and in their own lease it states "You will still be liable for rent for the period of time during which no tenant is living in the unit. We will attempt, to the extent required under Louisiana law, to find a new tenant and rent the unit." "We'll exercise customary diligence to re-rent and minimize the amount you owe us." They do NOT follow the law. They only have a collections company demand full payment of the lease. The collections company says that they can't do anything to help you. The management office tells you that you owe the entire lease DESPITE the fact that that is not what the lease says. The property owner will NOT speak to you and they put it on your credit report leaving you with no recourse but to take them to court which most people can not do. They are CROOKED. They do not follow the law and the only way you can fight it is in court so they will be forced to. BEWARE!
