Resident 2004 - 2013

2/28/2013

My wife and I have lived here since 2004. When we first moved in, management was responsive and professional and maintenance was prompt and efficient. In the last 3 years (2010 to now) they must be accepting Section 8 tenants only because the complex has gone ------. There is trash everywhere all the time. If you get a chance to look over the fence you'll see a volume of trash in amounts seen only at a landfill because the residents are too lazy to walk to the dumpsters. They just throw it over the fence. Stray cats and raccoons are everywhere. We killed 8 mice in our apartment the last week we were there. Children are allowed to run around and scream at the top of their lungs. Teens hang out in front of other apartments and talk as though they are trying to communicate across a pasture with two cans and a string. The parents are no better. The maintenance manager lived below us the last few months and we believe it is his daughter that had guests all hours of the night playing loud music and video games till past 2 in the morning. There is a U-shaped driveway with a DESIGNATED entrance and exit. The idiots that live here are too lazy to drive one-way so they exit at the entrance and enter through the exit. The gates aren't very wide so if you try to enter when someone is exiting you almost have to come to a complete stop on Old Hammond Hwy. The traffic there moves at about 50mph so you can imagine the hazard that presents and the potential for getting rear-ended because some "poule dou" is too lazy to drive around the complex and exit where they're supposed to. This complex will soon go the way of Blvd de Province. It was once a really nice diverse community but not anymore. The apartments are shabby at best. Check the AC closet and you'll run because of the dust and mold. Ceiling fans will keep you awake with the noise they make because they wobble so bad it is a wonder they're still in the ceiling. The walk-in closets in our new house are bigger than the kitchen. The hot water heater in a 3 br/2 ba apt is about the size of a 5 gallon bucket so you better shower fast. Downstair apartments will get water in them if you get a long term rain event. Bring some rubber boots as well because you'll need them because the drains are poor and the sidewalks will have 2" of water on them. You obviously need not be able to parallel park to live here. Closet rods are close to collapsing.
