I'll start this review by warning you about the bug infestation. My roommate and I lived in Trace Apartments for one year (April 2012 - April '13) and our apartment had a bug problem the entire time. Nothing we did helped. From what I heard, virtually all the units had bugs, and it was even worse on the ground floor. We lived on the second floor, and it was bad enough there. The landlady (an older woman named Becky) sent a pest-control man every few months, but I imagine he just sprayed water.
There were more problems outside our apartment. In the afternoons and on weekends, there were often large groups of unsupervised children playing in the courtyard (which our unit overlooked). I didn't mind them so much, because they were just kids, but they did make a lot of noise. There was a small playground in another part of the complex, but the kids rarely used it because it was so run-down. At all hours, there were constantly groups of black men loitering on the stairs or in the parking lot, playing loud profane music or having loud profane conversations.
The parking lot was poorly-lit and full of pot-holes, and my roommate once woke up to find that someone had written misspelt obscenities on her car with a permanent marker during the night. The maintenance crew took a long time to respond to requests, if they ever did at all.
