Mark Twain II
Resident · 2007 - 2014
I lived here for over five years. Pros: Cheap. Very good about pest control. I hardly ever had roaches and I have a thing about bugs so this was definitely a positive for me. I never had any problems with the office staff. They were usually very sweet and helpful. Lots of closet space. Decent square footage. Never had issues with safety, break ins, etc. Decent pools. I didn't have any problems moving out. Cons: Cheap. You get what you pay for. Not many amenities. Not very modern. The entire apartment is painted white. I'm talking cabinets, walls, counters even the doggone DOOR KNOBS are painted white. The floors are white. It was a pure pain in the butt to keep clean. The bathroom is tiny. Low water pressure in the shower. The shower/tub walls are not made of tile but this weird textured plastic that was also hard to clean. Tonti does a decent job maintaining the grounds but the interior of the apartments definitely need an upgrade. Walls are super thin. I could hear my neighbors fart, argue, play Xbox and have loud gross sex in the wee hours of the morning. My neighbors were loud and annoying. I think the price of the apts draws a younger/careless crowd. The a/c broke down 3 summers in a row. It got so hot once I had to stay in a hotel until it was fixed. Tonti paid for it so that's a positive. Also, the a/c is really old and LOUD. So loud that ppl could hear it in the background over the phone. Entergy bills were pretty high because of it. Parking was hit or miss. Most of the time I had no problem finding a spot. But beware - there is an a**hole cop who lives there who gives out tickets if you are parked in the fire lane or handicap spots even for a few mins. Overall I would recommend this complex if it's all that you can afford. But if you can do better, look elsewhere.
