I loved living here for the most part - fairly quiet, very quick repairs, nice maintenance guys, all utilities included. However, the apartment was DISGUSTING when we moved in. They definitely do not clean in between tenants - one of our screen doors had dried human vomit spilling down it, the bathrooms were horrifying, etc. Also, even though we left the apartment FAR cleaner than it was when we moved in, they charged us $200 for ridiculous "cleaning" charges. Similarly, when we moved in we made a long list of all the "damages" that were already in the apartment when we got there - this included stains on the carpet, missing bathroom vanity doors, paint scratches, etc. However, when we got our security deposit back, there was another $200 missing from it for "damages," all of which were things that we had listed as already existing when we moved in. When we called, the office folks said that we turned in a "blank" damages report when we moved in, therefore we must have done the damages. This is absolutely absurd and we are still currently fighting to get our money back. They also let us know that they take pictures of the damages that "we" did, but conveniently deleted the pictures taken after the previous tenants moved out. Long story short, this was a great place to live for the most part, but Alpine clearly makes it a point to screw over students when they move out. We've heard from 3 other apartments that similar "damages" and "cleaning" charges were subtracted out of their security deposit.
