Lincoln Real Estate

I lived with roommates at North Pleasant Street. Paid $1,800 (too much for a very basic and outdated apt.) The location was good--yes, but the place needed work when we moved in, and when we left the owners of Lincoln grabbed almost all of our security deposit claiming they needed to do painting and repairs. We wrote letters offering our point of view and made calls that were never acknowledged or returned. They are not nice people--only interested in money, and they have negative attitude towards students. We went weeks with a broken heater--could even see our breath in the apt, on several occasions. This drove up our electricity bill. (There were no real storm windows.) There was no rush by Lincoln to fix things. When repair men came they said that the heater had been repaired in a cheap way several times before. We were even charged for a screen that the workmen broke and didn t return. Many other students have made complaints about Lincoln s sneaky ways of conducting business and their reputation for taking advantage of college renters--especially keeping a large portion of students security deposits. We left the apt. as we found it and we still lost most of our deposit. KEEP AWAY! They are not nice people to do business with.
