Boston Realty Works is an absolutely terrible property management company. They rent you a shabby apartment, only worth it because of the great location. But when you have a pipe which floods your bathroom constantly, and it takes multiple calls over many months for them to send someone over, it gets a little ridiculous. There is no communication, and if you want to be sure that your stuff isn't stolen, you need to sit around all day waiting for the workmen who may or may not show up. Everyone in the world has a key to your apartment, who knows what they're going through in your apartment when you aren't around. One time, workmen came into my bathroom, unannounced, when I was at work, and the bathroom was left in absolute shambles. At first I had thought someone had broken into my apartment!! You also have to renew your lease 7 or 8 months before the lease kicks in. People come into your apt. unannounced for months on end. Unacceptable. There are numberous health code and inspectional services violations. They raise the rent every time that they can. They fool you by having a nice office, and apartments in excellent locations. But you can definitely find someone else, they have given me the worst rental experience of my entire life.

Please be reminded that the Rental and Sales office is entirely separate from Management Company. Further, we advise all tenants to perform a thorough inspection of the property prior to signing a lease. This also includes submitting an apartment conditions statement after you have moved in. Landlords have the final say of what work is performed in a unit, not the management company. That being said, we have a 24-hour 7 days a week emergency answering service. This is a live voice that responds to any problem upon receipt of your call. This person's claims that a flood or serious issues with the apartment were not responded too are simply false. In a life threatening or emergency situation, such as a flood, we have a respond and correct policy first - then answer to the landlord later action plan. And again, it is up to the landlord to decide if and when to raise their rent, and how much. And it is up to the landlord to decide when to put their unit on the rental market and which rental offices they provide keys too. Real estate agents by law are required to give all existing tenants proper notice before they show an apartment. Any realtor who fails to do this should be turned over the RHA and have their license revoked.
