I rented an apartment from BRW without researching their reputation- they had a lot of properties in the area that I wanted to live in and the timing was right. Unfortunately once I signed and moved in I figured out what a bad idea that was- they would show up unannounced at odd hours and they ignored repeated requests for pressing repairs (burst hot water heater, leaky ceiling etc). Obviously run by people who have zero vested interest in service or the condition of their units. After speaking to others in the industry I found out that BRW is a known quantity amongst Boston real estate people as an absolute joke. They should change their name to Boiler Room Works.
Also when I was moving out the broker BRW hired who came to show the apartment to BRW's next victims asked me to lie to the prospective renters about the condition of the apartment.

The claims in this person's statements are absurd. The fact that we are one of Boston's original and long time standing property management companies is a testament to expertise and professionalism in this industry.
Further if this person were in fact knowledgeable of the industry then they would know that the rental office is a separate company, and that we do not hire agents to show any apartments, which we manage.
We would have advised this person to turn that agent over to the RHA or the manager of their office and have their license revoked.
Should the author of this originating rant wish to speak with me to learn more about any of the above, please contact me to discuss in more detail. Thank you.
