Resident 2018 - 2019

7/22/2019

I have lived at 580 Comm Ave for almost a year now. It's been a mixed bag. First, the pros: You couldn't ask for a better location, the price is not fantastic but reasonable for a studio in Boston. The cons: First, it's loud. It has been a serious issue, especially during exam time. Either this building has no insulation whatsoever, or I have the worst neighbors. I sleep with a noise machine and ear plugs, but my neighbors are so loud all night that it still prevents me from sleeping. I've raised the issue with both my neighbors and the housing office, to no avail. Speaking of.... the housing office. Terrible. Don't interact with them if you can avoid it. Also, they don't turn on the A/C until way too late in the year, after the rooms get up to like 80 degrees. It's kind of uncomfortable for a month. All in all, don't live here if you can help it. If you do live here, just be prepared to deal with some of these things. The apartments themselves are small, but fine for a single grad student and relatively clean/new.
