Overall a nice / good place. The grounds are nice, pool, dog walk area and forest / tree's. Apartments are fairly quiet too. Issues: Gun Shooting range next door, you do hear it - not terrible but annoying some days when windows are open. (They don't tell you ANYTHING about that). Monthly water and Sewer bills - what? An apartment? They are a total rip off and run $50 or more per month and I live alone. Electric Bills HIGH - during colder months they TURN ON an outside heater (w/o telling you) to keep pipes from freezing (their stupid design) and suddenly your electric bill is more than doubled every month. They raise the rent and don't seem to appreciate those that renew / stay. It's nice until I either move away from Boston (don't like it here) or end up buying something.

Thanks for your feedback. It is important to us to hear what our residents are thinking so that we can make positive changes for everyone in our community. I'm glad to hear that you are overall satisfied with life in our community.
Residents are responsible for all utilities: water, sewer, electric and gas (heat and hot water). We do our best to inform every prospective resident when they tour the property, and we give them a range of expected costs. I apologize for any confusion.
The hot water tank is located outside on the balcony. In order for it not to freeze, there is an electric heater attached. The heaters get turned on in December and turned off in March/April. We inform each prospective resident about this as well.
As for your concern about pricing, we do adjust rates to best reflect the current market value for the types of apartments available. These rates can fluctuate daily, and we do our best to communicate rate changes to residents during the renewal process.
Please let me know if you would like to talk about your concerns or how our utilities are assessed. I'm always available to you in the office, or at dollerhead@eqr.com or at (781) 356-1345.
