Resident 2010 - 2012

8/30/2012

If you wanted to envy the homeless, live here. This place is perhaps the worst complex I have ever had the misfortune of living in. I barely even know where to start when it comes to telling you readers what is wrong with Lord Baron Apartments. First of all, If you can find -any- place other than here, take it. Here in the LBA you're going to be spending a lot of money for nothing. The units are roach infested, with very little lighting and thin walls. If you ever have an issue, deal with it yourself. Spare yourself from either dealing with the Maintenance people who are some of the dumbest people I've ever dealt with. And barely speak any english, or the managers. Kevin and Karen are rude, arrogant, immature and act like everyone who walks into their office is an inconvenience to them. Be prepared to be yelled at, insulted and talked down to if you ever have a problem with them. It's honestly a wonder that the city hasn't removed them. If I did terribly at my job, I would get fired. The same should be for those two deadbeats. Moving on to the state of the buildings themselves. Often unkempt and barely functional when it comes to the doorway and buzzer systems. Half the time they don't work, and my building has a broken lock. So anyone can let themselves in with a good pull. Safety hazard? Yeah. The hallways are absolutely attrocious. You can literally smell what everyone else has cooked for the past week and it's awful. Not to be insulting, but curry is a spice, not a meal. If you are seeking a place with good neighbors also, this is not the place either. Everyone looks at you as though you're not supposed to be there, nobody smiles or says Hi no matter how persistant you are to be friendly with them. There's often people that are downright creepy, such as this one from building 10 whom constantly walks around the lot and stares at people. Children, women, anyone. It's disheartening almost because he doesn't reply if you try to talk to him. Speaking of Children, if you ever wanted peace and quiet it is completely foregone. Every day there's often kids outside yelling and screaming. I'd be fine with that, if the neighbors weren't so lousy. This is a place for people who really can't find anything better. Which at the time, is what I was. But take it from someone who has spent 2 reluctant years in this undermanaged, roach-infested, dirty, lousy, cr*phole of a sad excuse for an Apartment Complex... do -NOT- move to Lord Baron Apartments. You'll find better accommodations and less pests in a cardboard box beneath an underpass.
