Resident · 2013 - 2014
I moved to Dartmouth Woods under the impression that I would be moving into a good community with nice people and landlord and maintenance crew that would be on the up and up. Boy was I wrong. I have been waiting for maintenance to come and fix my carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms for 2 weeks, heaven forbid if something happened. The people that reside here are the absolute scum of the Earth. My package of Christmas gifts was stolen, my upstairs neighbors are so extremely loud and there is always creepy people wandering around at night, Not to mention there are idiot kids running around without their dogs on leashes and that don't pick up their dog's poop either. My central air has broken twice and I was forced to wait a week in the July heat. The walls in this place mark up so easily that if you even touch the wall their is a mark on it. No amount of scrubbing can seem to get it off but don't even begin to fear about cleaning anything because you could leave your apartment spotless when you leave and Jay will take all your $1200 security deposit regardless. They don't even bother to replace the rugs, they think that a steam clean will suffice however when it gets humid in the summer the stains of previous tenants will rise and make your carpet look disgusting. Maintenance doesn't know how to fix anything, the office staff is clueless and they don't even pay attention you can just waltz right in and take whatever package you can get your hands on and Jay is a pompous little man on a power trip with no compassion for you even if you've been waiting for your things to get fixed for forever. The amount you pay for rent in comparison to the service is like paying for a hotel at the Hilton and getting service from a Super 8 motel. None of the utilities are included and I have to pay for my cats to live here, why doesn't he just charge extra for my six month old who wouldn't haven even survived since in the winter my building still wasn't shoveled even at 5 PM. I nearly fell down on all the black ice from having to move my car back and forth for fear of being towed out. I will not be renewing my lease in August for all the reasons I just wrote about above but also because the rent is going up and the service isn't even staying the way it is but it's getting worse. Do yourself a favor and never rent from Dartmouth Woods.
