Resident 2012 - 2013

8/28/2013

This place is great. I have been here just under a year, and I regret that I am leaving. I am moving to the south shore, otherwise I would love to stay here longer. The dog community aspect is great, my dog and I get to socialize a lot with other dogs. There was a lot of poop over the winter and spring, but it comes from non-residents who walk their dogs by, which is no fault of management. The great part about my room - very spacious living area, new appliances (6 yrs old), nice looking cabinets, great washer/dryer in the bedroom, AMAZING view of the river from my 6th floor window, convenient to the 495. Any issues I have had, the staff and maintenance have quickly fixed. I live on the top floor, so perhaps it is less noisy, but I never hear my neighbors talking. There was a period of time in which the neighboring dogs were barking ALL day from 8 AM to 8 PM, but after lodging a noise complaint with the office, the neighbors have apparently done something because the barking went away for the most part. The maintenance staff are super nice, and the ladies in the office are always friendly and love to talk to you. Yes, the neighborhood is shady, but you get 1 free parking space in a garage across the street which is as good security as you can get. I have never seen any vandalism on cars parked within this said garage. There is paid parking available in front of the building with lighting, and I have not seen vandalism, just cars getting dented because the spaces are small. I park in the backlot which is really shady, but free, so you get what you pay for. The businesses around the building are more corporate and industrial. Sal Lupoli (Salvatores) has done much for the area across the river from here. This is not the super shady residential area where murders commonly occur. That's about 5 blocks down. I don't enjoy walking around, especially if it's dusk or dark, but it's easy to drive into a safer town, like andover which is 2 miles away, or N. andover which is 1 mile away. This is the best value you are going to get in the area PERIOD. Everything is new and renovated and doesn't look nasty like 99% of the old run down apartments in this price range. People complain about the smell in the stairways - get over it, not a big deal, put your big boy pants on and use the elevator, or the elevator stairwell. People complain about the noise - luck of the draw, bad neighbors I guess. Never bothered me.
