Hampton Court Apartments
Resident • 2001 - 2010 Not Recommended
I have lived at the Hampton Court Apts. for several years and have watched it go quickly down hill. Part of the reason I moved in was its offering of air conditioning, which initially they gave faithfully. Since a change of management, and perhaps ownership?, which took place 3 years things have changed. Now the building withholds providing air conditioning until June 15th and turns it off promptly on Sept. 15th no matter what the weather is doing. Currently apt. temperatures are reaching 90 degrees. The building houses a mix of people. The elderly, section 8, students and anybody else. My lease does not state turn-off and on dates. rather it says only that air-conditioning will be provided. Additionally I believe that the base level of function for the air has been raised so that, even when turned on last year, the apartments are never comfortable. The halls, stairwells, and elevator are not cleaned as regularly which often makes for smelly and dirty locations. There was once a weekend security guard but this positioned has disappeared as has secure outer doors which are often broken. The laundry facilities are often dysfunctional while their repair is slow in coming. In all it seems easy to believe that these apartments are now seen as cash cows wherein little is put in for maximum profit. .
