After 5.5 months at Neponset Landing, I very happy. I hope to stay for a long time. I most love the HUGE WINDOWS, spanning nearly from the ceiling to the floor. The sun pours into my apartment, and despite being ten floors up, it feels like being outside. My unit has a balcony. Sometimes I work from home with my laptop out on the balcony. To the left I see the green Pope Park. Straight ahead I see the Boston skyline (and on the 4th I could see the fireworks from the Esplanade.) To the right I see Marina Bay with all its boats and blue waters. (It's a 15 min walk to the boardwalk.) Below my balcony I see the Neponset River. Next to the river we have two grills in a new patio area with seating for 16, as well as a large dock, where people fish, play with their dogs, and lay in the sun. There are bike paths all around and Pope Park just across the street. Restaurants within a three minute walk. To be honest, between the river full of boats, the sun pouring in my windows, and so many outdoor activities -- sometimes it feels like I am living on vacation. And of course the G-Y-M. The gym is small, but it's very clean and everything is always in working order. No more excuses! The train is noisy. If the windows are open, I have to pause the TV for three seconds. If you don't want to hear the train, just pick a unit that isn't close to the train. If you work in Boston or on the T, there is a free shuttle that stops at our front door from early morning until 7pm on weekdays. It's very much like living in downtown Boston without having to pay downtown Boston rent. If you go to the N. Quincy station, there is a free shuttle that will take you to the Marina Bay boardwalk and back until almost 11pm every night. The heat is included in the rent. When it warms up, they switch to A/C. However, you can still run your heater, but you are paying for it on your electric bill. I would not call this a "luxury" complex. The carpet, appliances, and countertops are not "luxury". But it's nicer than 95% of the apartments out there, with a concierge, beautiful lobby, and maintenance staff, and a has a new, clean feel - along with those big windows that I love so much. One negative is that they charge you for water. My bill for two people has ranged from $42 to $101 per month. (I finally stopped my son from taking 30 min showers....) They do charge I think $35 "pet rent". For parking, I'm very happy. Since we are on the river, there are birds in the parking garage, so that gets on your car. But I will NEVER HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW AGAIN. I have never seen any vandalism, etc. I have guests often and they have always parked on the side of the building without incident. You can speak with the concierge if you're concerned about a guest's car. The bathrooms are new, all white and not small. The entire apartment feels very new. I am impressed by the Maintenance team. I don't have a husband for that kind of thing, so this is a big deal to me. The dryers are a negative - they are high end "green" machines that don't really dry the clothes. But in five months I have become used to it. The office staff has been excellent. I also like that I pay rent online, and can communicate with the staff via email. Maintenance requests can be made online from my desk at work. Confirmations come in a text msg. The concierge is there until midnight and will help with just about anything you need. They accept any packages you receive, so no worries there. There is a nice waiting area if someone comes to meet you. Pizza is delivered to your apt. door. The halls are not full of running children. They are very quiet, and we try to always be quiet in the halls. Also, I have never once hear a noise from the neighbors on my same floor. I occasionally hear a thump from above me, but never a voice or music, etc. It's very quiet (except for the train). I do hear cars from the balcony. Mainly because I am on the corner right next to the bridge. I really love my apartment.
